There are quite a few things that made renting from Ziya absolutely TERRIBLE. First, I didn’t get the car I originally requested on Turo. I requested to rent Ziya’s Mazda, but he met me at the airport with a Nissan Note which was absolutely disgusting and filthy on the inside! There were crumbs all over the floor and seats (front and back), the windshield was dirty, the cup holders were lined with dried liquids, and the dashboard was covered in dust. (Cleanest part of the car was actually the trunk). Ziya told me the car had been cleaned and sanitized before renting to me, which was CLEARLY a lie and I have the pictures to prove it. Second, the car itself was extremely basic with no amenities - no CarPlay, no Bluetooth, no Sirius, there even wasn’t USB port or anyway to charge my phone in the car, which made me question if the car he forced on me was actually a ‘2014’ as advertised because USB ports come pretty standard for most cars only six years old. I think the Nissan Note is much older then he is advertising on Turo. Third, after meeting me at the airport, he drove me about 3 miles away to a small shopping complex and forced me to sit in the car with him for about 45 minutes while he called Turo customer support to sort out the car mixup, which as a customer wasn’t my problem and should not have involved me especially after just touching down from a long flight. Finally, I incurred a toll charge which should have only been $2.95, but Ziya requested reimbursement for $5. After asking him to provide proof of the charge amount, he withdrew the original reimbursement amount and charged me for the correct amount. I get the impression that he does this often to unsuspecting renters as a way to make extra money. Please beware if you rent from him, even if it is only a few extra dollars he’s charging, this seems really unethical and even illegal. This was my first time using Turo (as opposed to renting from an established car rental company) and based on my experience with renting from Ziya, it may very well by my last.
Champayne, sorry you felt that way
