We booked a vehicle only for 1 day weeks prior to our trip. The host messaged me less than 2 days before the scheduled pick-up to cancel our reservation and book another car because the original one was going into maintenance. Luckily, we were able to get a refund from Turo, but still a bit annoying.

After picking up the vehicle, we drove 25 minutes away from the rental lot and we were pulled over by police. We were not speeding or driving dangerously. The police told us that the car we were driving had expired insurance, registration, plates, etc. We told them we got the vehicle from a rental company through Turo. They advised us to switch vehicles immediately and to ask for a refund. This was inconvenient as we already made plans for the day. We messaged the Host and one of the employees, Michael, replied. He was very nice and responsive. We said we would prefer not to drive back because we did not want to get pulled over again, but he said no one was available to come meet us. When we arrived there, again Matthew was apologetic and very nice. We received a different car and were told not to worry about gas. Matthew provided good customer service, but the experience was overall disappointing.

The car was reliable and the host was super nice. The backseat had sand in it still from the previous driver but minor issue. Would rent again for the price and convenience.
