Guidelines

There’s only a few things you can NOT do. -No smoking. -No off roading -No illegal activities -No animals. -Do not charge the battery more than 90%. -Do not drop the battery below 10%. -You are responsible for Supercharging Idle fees. -You must leave the mobile connection setting on. ( I recommend charging when you hit around 20% unless your about to return it. In which case you can leave it at 20%.) -The car does NOT need to be detailed. (Including vacuum, and wiping things down.) However you are responsible for any spills on the upholstery. Please wipe these up as soon as they happen, as it can stain and cause permanent damage. I have several clean microfiber towels in the front trunk you are welcome to use!)

Faqs

  • How do I Charge it?

Simply go to a Tesla super charging Station (can be found in google maps. There is one in SLC.) You have to back into the charging stall. On the top left of the touchscreen is a small lightning bolt. Click this, and then a screen will pop up, and there will be a button you push to open the charge port. Then grab the charging rod off the big red and white Tesla charging stand. plug it in to the port. It should easily slide in. It will turn green. Once you have reached the desired charge. In that same screen hit stop charging. Then hit the button unlock charge port. Then just pull out the charging rod, hang it back up, and you are good to go. The charge port will automatically close when you drive off, or you can push the button to close it.

  • How much does it cost to charge?

It is 100% FREE at Tesla Superchargers. Just make sure to unplug and move the vehicle once done charging, otherwise you will be charged idle fees. You will be responsible for these fees.

  • How do I use the key fob?

There is three buttons in your key fob. It is shaped like the car as a reminder. 2 clicks on the front of the fob will open the front trunk. 2 Clicks in the middle (roof) of the key fob will unlock the car. 2 clicks on the back of the fob (trunk) will open the trunk. One click in the middle (roof) will lock your car. You can also click one time and hold it in the back (trunk) and it will open the charge port. The front trunk does need to be closed manually, however the back trunk can be closed with the double click again.

  • Is it good in bad weather?

Yes! Tesla has a unique AWD system that rivals any vehicle on the market. Along with high high performance tires, and the highest safety rating of any vehicle to date, feel safe and secure in this beautiful ride.

  • What if I have questions during my rental?

I will be available 24/7 to assist you with anything you might need. You can contact me through the Turo app, or my personal cell phone. I have remote access to the vehicle, allowing me to easily assist you.

  • How long does it take to charge?

A full charge takes 1 hour. The vehicle comes fully charged, so you would only need to this if you used the whole battery and want another whole battery. If your between 15% -%40 battery life, the car will charge 100 miles in about 15 minutes. This is what I recommend.

  • Where can I take the car?

Anywhere you like! Just make sure if your leaving SLC, you plan your trip with supercharging stations. If you put your destination into the GPS, it will tell you where, when and how long to charge. Also keep in mind that some locations do not have supercharging stations, and the system will not tell you if you have enough battery to get back, only if you have enough to get there. I can assist you with this and even help plan your trip, so it is stress free! As long as you follow these instructions you will not run out of power.

  • Is it easy to drive?

Yes! Although it is different from gas cars, and other electric cars, Tesla offers a seamless and smooth ride you won’t forget. There are endless gadgets to adjust and tweak to your specification. If you don’t want to bother with all that, you can simply jump in the car, put it into drive, and your good to go!

  • What if I have problems?

Not a problem! Rest assured, I will be here 24/7 for support. I can arrange road side assistance, and anything else you might Need.

  • How fast is it?

This vehicle goes 0-60 in 2.9 seconds. It has the equivalent of more than 700 Horsepower. Even with AWD this vehicle has so much power it can still “burn out” and turn sideways. Be safe, and have fun!

  • How do I turn it On and Off?

Tesla’s never completely turn off. When you get inside the vehicle, it will sense the key fob. Simply press the brake once to “start” the car. Now Hold the break and put it into gear with the right shifter on the steering wheel. When you reach your destination, push the break, put it in park, and your good to exit the vehicle. You might still hear fans running, which is normal to protect the vehicle. When you walk away from the vehicle, it will lock.

  • How do I drive it?

The stick shift is in the right side of the wheel. Simply press the break pedal down, and push the knob up or down for reverse and drive. After that it’s basically like a gas car. It does have regenerative breaking, so as soon as you let pressure off the gas pedal, the car will slow down.

  • How do you lock and unlock ?

The car is set so when you walk up to the vehicle the door handles will present themselves. When you walk away, the car will lock. You can also use the key fob to perform these actions and more. Please check out my “How to use Key Fob” FAQ.

  • What is an Idle Fee?

You are charged per minute once you are done supercharging. Simply unplug and and move your vehicle. Tesla does this so everyone has access to the chargers.
