Andrew rented out this car with a bump in the tire and worn tread. He told us he was aware of the bump in the tire before renting it out. He also rented it out with every check engine/maintenance light one as well. When I brought this up he said it was fine and he's never had an issue with the car. While driving, one of the tires blew out causing us to need a tow and the car needing repair. We lost a day of our vacation and had to incur all the expenses for the tow, tire, maintenance as well as a hotel stay we didn't plan. When we shared this with Andrew he was very kind about it and assured us maintenance and wear and tear issues like worn out tires going flat were not the responsibility of the renter. We were later told by a mechanic that the tires were dangerous to drive on. Andrew said all the right things to appease us, admitting the issues was that of the owner and that he would reimburse us. He was friendly throughout. He then completely ghosted us after we returned the car and we have received zero communication from him as we work to mediate this through Turo. Just know that the cars he lends out are poorly maintained, and should you incur any maintenance-related issues that the owner should address, you will incur all those costs. Do not be deceived by the friendliness and smiles in texts or appeasing language. The common refrain is "two sides to every story", but frankly this is pretty straightforward consumer abuse and deception. Do not rent this car. You will be responsible for all common maintenance if it pops up on your trip. It appears Andrew simply tries to offload common maintenance he should be doing to those he rents to. We continue to work with Turo to resolve this and hope they understand how deceptive and dangerous this kind of behavior is.

Hi Jason, thank you for your review, although most of it was untrue. I want to start off by saying that the rest of my reviews can attest to my dedication and commitment to my customers. Having said that, I contacted the shop where you replaced the tire and they informed me that you are the one that made them hand write 'due to wear and tear' on the receipt. I understand you did this so you can get reimbursed, realizing that I would be the one to pay for it. Dishonesty and deceit at its finest.
