Description

This is a Tesla Roadster. 2-door convertible. 100% electric vehicle. It gets about 200 miles on a full charge. Both a body-color hard top or cloth soft top are available. Just let me know how you want it configured when you pick it up: hard, soft, or top down. You will receive the Roadster with a full charge. 240v charging cable is included with an adapter for 120v as well. This car is not compatible with Tesla superchargers, so you will need to plan for charging at your hotel or home. With 240v charging available, you can plug it in at night and it will be fully charged when you wake up in the morning. 3.9 second 0-60 acceleration is not for the faint of heart. The pure EV performance will have you grinning ear to ear. Note that this is a small car with not a lot of storage in the trunk. You can fit one small roll-aboard suitcase (carry-on size) and one small backpack or laptop bag in the trunk. Also note that this is a two seater, there is only room for one driver and one passenger. Please use my referral code if you are purchasing a new Tesla http://ts.la/ron1286 The current referral promotion at Tesla is 1000 free supercharger miles when using the referral code to purchase a new Tesla vehicle.

- No smoking, No Pets. If any evidence of smoking or pets are discovered, the renter will be charged a $250 cleaning fee. - Please do not run the battery down to 0%. You will be charged a towing fee if the car shuts down at 0%. Call me if you're getting low on charge and I can help you find a charger. - Do not turn off Traction Control. Traction control is there to keep the driver safe. - If any charging cable or charging adapter is lost, a replacement fee of $600 will be charged for each item lost. - Please return the car with at least 40 miles of range. You don't want to cut it too close, and end up getting towed to a charger. Many factors affect range like rain, cold weather, high winds, etc.

Faqs

  • Can I use the Tesla Superchargers if I take the Roadster on a road trip?

No. The Roadster is not compatible with the Tesla Supercharger network. You are limited to L2 and L1 public chargers. Download the plugshare app to browse chargers in the local area. If you plan on using public chargers, I can let you borrow some RFID cards to allow you to charge without having to register. Each brand of charger requires a pre-registration to enable the charging session. I have charge cards for Blink, Chargepoint, EVgo, etc. You will be charged for any public charging sessions incurred during your rental period. These will be assessed after your rental return. Note that many hotels offer "free" charging for guests. Call the hotel and ask if they have electric vehicle charging, or check the plugshare app. If you are staying at a home, you can charge the Roadster for "free" at your home.

  • How much range does the Roadster have?

When fully charged, the Roadster has about a 200 mile range. To get the maximum range, you need to put the roadster in "range mode". Range mode will limit the performance and acceleration in order to increase range.

  • How long does it take to charge the Roadster?

The charging time depends on the charging source. - Standard 120v wall plug provides about 3 miles per hour, or about 30 miles of range overnight. - Standard 240v range/oven plug provides about 30 miles per hour or a full range charge overnight. - Typical L2 public charging station at 208v 20amp provides about 20 miles per hour.

  • Can I drive on the toll roads in the DFW area?

Yes. The Roadster has a toll tag that will allow you to breeze through all the toll roads in Texas. You will be charged for any tolls incurred during your rental period. These will be assessed after your rental return, and you will be charged via the Turo app for any tolls incurred during your rental period plus a $2 admin fee.

For my first time using Turo, Ron was more than accommodating. Pick up and return was a breeze - and he was very informative throughout. I'll definitely be renting Ron's Tesla again!

Ron is a super fantastic host! He is extremely friendly, accommodating, and willing to work with you on things! Even though I already own a Tesla Ron gave me a plethora of information I didn’t already know about electric cars! The Tesla roadster itself is majestical orange beast, that runs complexity silent, but screams with speed! It’s impeccably clean on the inside, and had all the features one would need to drive around safely! If you like attention, and having nothing but the best time if your life, then I suggest you rent this beautiful car from Ron! THANKS RON!!

This car is a legendary car that tells a bit of the story on how Tesla Motors came to be. As their first 'production' car, only ~2500 were made in totality. However, it proved that Tesla Motors could be real. And fast. And more than just 'clean energy'. As someone heavily involved in sports/exotic cars and the automotive industry, this was an awesome experience - in fact, I never would have thought a Tesla Roadster would be listed on Turo, but as a fellow (past, in Denver) host, I know the care that people treat your vehicle(s) unlike other rental companies. This car goes FAST, and it's not your typical sports car fast, it's straight torque with a center-rear balance rear wheel drivetrain feel. So history aside, it's an awesome car. Ron's was also great because plugging my iPhone in let me play spotify without hitch (often it locks down to iPod mode which is a mess if you don't use iTunes often). He delivers it fully charged maximum range (another prop to ron as this mode actually - but minimally - degrades the battery, so don't use it) but it's just another example of how well Ron meets and treats this experience. If you like sports cars, and have familiarity with EV's, charging, and charging speeds, I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend renting Ron's Tesla, I would give 6/5 stars across the board if I could. Thanks again Ron, I hope to snag her again sometime in the summer/fall!
