This trip we decided to utilize this service, not knowing all it entailed. It was easy to pick up and find car and drop off after reading and contacting Island to ensure we were following the rules. We normally rent from car rentals who no longer take you to your car, you get in and go. The day of trip and prior w/Turo you have to make sure you give yourself time to take pictures and day of departure and understand where to place. You can NOT be hurried for what is being asked of you to do, I have to reiterate that part. You need to acclimate yourself. Cost savings was sufficient with car, that’s why we opted for this particular service. We also wanted to deal with Island only. Utilizing this service allows you more selection of cars. We picked a energy efficient car (Prius). Even though we didn’t put alot of miles, it was nice to have this feature. Contacting your host, you also have to review where you contact on app. There is Turo, then your host. We rented for 6 weeks, but left after 5 weeks. I saw a credit but need to check my credit card. It was difficult for a day or two to change the reservation on app. Needed to contact Turo and host. I had a text number I used and contacted host and had a quick response. Overall pickup and drop off/price was good. I wish we had the ability to talk in person to the host (I like in person)! I have suggested Turo, Island specifically, to friends and others we met during the trip. They also rent bikes and other beach essentials. We vacuumed and wiped our entire vehicle down prior to leaving at airport. Next time we know what is needed and will be a bit smoother on my end. You need to understand process for a flawless trip. I did like the fact as soon as I shortened my trip I saw I had credit on the app.
