Description

2019 long-range Tesla Model 3, premium black interior with all-wheel drive. Outfitted with all-weather mats and a clear paint protective film on the full front clip. ** Currently 15% off a week-long rental! ** If you haven't driven a Tesla before, check out the Model 3 instructional videos to learn all the basics you need to start driving right away. (Only takes ~7 minutes to watch them all.) bit.ly/model-3-instructions No car wash or charging is required upon return. 20% minimum delivery drop-off charge required, just so I can make it home! CHARGING: • Fastest charging at Tesla's supercharging stations. Plenty of stations for a road trip to anywhere in the USA. Upon vehicle return, I'll request a refund for the cost automatically charged to my account from the Superchargers. • Mobile connector and adapter for both public (non-Tesla) charging stations and 120V/220V home charging options included upon request. USE YOUR PHONE AS THE KEY: Before your trip, you'll create a Tesla account and I’ll give you access to drive the car via the Tesla phone app. This allows for automatic lock, unlock & start + remote temp control, etc. all with your phone! AUTOPILOT: Equipped with full autopilot hardware, making highway driving a breeze. Turn autopilot on and let the car safely control the speed, steering within lanes, and lane changes. If you've got a long trip, autopilot is a must-have feature to make your trip more comfortable. EXTRA INFO: • If dropped off at the airport or a parking lot, you will be responsible for paying the fee to exit the parking lot. Usually comes to only about $5-10. • Don't wash the car before returning! (I’ve got my own process to keep the paint in top condition.) Just try to keep the inside as clean as possible while using it ;) • If you're considering buying a Tesla, also consider using my referral link to get 1,000 miles of free supercharging: ts.la/bob98435

Guidelines

• Absolutely no smoking in or near the car. If this rule is violated, I'll have to charge a $250 fee to get the car professionally detailed. • If you decide to clean the car (not necessary though), PLEASE do not take it through a car wash with brushes. "Touchless" or "Brushless" car washes are fine. If you use a do-it-yourself car wash, make sure to keep the pressure nozzle at least 12-18 inches from the paint on the car. • Please don't bring any pets in the car. My wife and I are both allergic to most dogs and all cats.

Faqs

  • How do I charge the car?

Tesla's super chargers are the fastest way to charge the car. You can find the super charging stations from the map screen in the vehicle or from the mobile app. The cost of super charging bills automatically to my personal account. Once your trip ends, I'll use Turo's "request a refund" feature to get a refund for the amount charged to my account. Just keep track of your time, because they begin charging hefty idling fees 5 minutes after charging is completed. (Once you're logged in to the mobile app, it'll send you notifications when it's almost complete so you can avoid these fees.) Additionally, upon request, I can provide the mobile charger and some adapters in case you'll be able to park it near an outlet. But be aware that charging on a normal 120V outlet takes A LONG time. (You only get about 4-5 miles of range per hour of charging.) If you're returning the car to my house, don't worry about charging it before dropping it off. If I'm picking it up from a location, make sure there's at least 20% left just so I can get home :) Pro tip: if possible, don't sit around waiting for the car to charge to the 90% max. It charges much faster in the lower percentages than the higher ones, so you can actually save time by stopping multiple times and only charging a little bit. https://abetterrouteplanner.com/ can help you figure out the optimum places/times to charge along your route.

  • How far can the vehicle go on a single charge?

The battery is a 310-mile battery when charged to full capacity, but for long-term battery health, it's much better to charge to car only to 90% capacity at most, which means the range is closer to ~279 miles. (Using lots of AC? Mileage will go down a bit. Driving primarily in the cold of winter? Mileage drops significantly.) You will need to plan your driving and trip more carefully than a combustion engine vehicle.

  • How does remote key transfer work?

Before your trip I'll have you create your own Tesla account. The day of, I'll provide you with a link to become a driver of the car. Once you accept the invitation, you'll be able to unlock the car from the app. After getting into the car the first time, you'll find the official key (like a black credit card) in the glovebox, which you can then use to set up your phone as a key and never have to worry about the key card again! (It really is a much better experience.)

If you want to rent a Tesla Bob’s is the one to go with. From one host (in a different industry) to another, Bob sets the bar of how hosting should be. Best check in process I’ve experienced on Turo.
