Description

Includes unlimited miles! At once both a rare sight and a daily workhorse, the Nissan Cube is unique in that it is one of the most asymmetrical cars ever made. A woman once flagged me down at an intersection to show me how excited she was to see a "proper British cabbie". It's small on the outside but big on the inside (wear your 10 gallon hat comfortably!). Comfortably seating 5, you can alternatively fold down the rear seats to make for a large trunk worthy of home improvement projects. Produced by Nissan since 1998 (making it the original "box" car, not the Honda Element or the Scion xB), it initially sold only in Japan, although from 2009 to 2014, the Cube has been sold in the US (it ran from 2009-2011 in Europe). Make it your economical yet quirky rental today!

Faqs

  • How do I handle toll roads?

For the toll roads in Orange County (73, 133, 241, and 261) there are no humans allowing you to pay, but you do NOT have to go to http://thetollroads.com and pay the toll, as I have the license plate tied to an account, so it is paid automatically. I just ask that you tell me at the end of your trip if you had any toll expenses, so that I can request reimbursement. This is better than paying the toll violation fee if the toll is unpaid within 7 days ($57.50), so I offer this as a service for you. There are no exclusive toll roads in San Diego County, but there is an express lane on Interstate 15, which you can go in for free if you are in a carpool (2 or more people in the car) but must have a transponder and pay when driving it alone. So don't use that when you are by yourself unless you want large fees for the violation.

Just a lovely experience. The Cube is fun and easy to drive. Very practical too. Just a real pleasure from first to last. Phil is extremely easy to work with too. So it's all good.
