This is a battery operated vehicle that solely runs on electric charge. If the charge runs out and it’s empty, it doesn’t mean that the battery is dead but just means you ran out of charge (similar to a gas vehicle) If you let it die you will be responsible for towing the vehicle to the nearest EV charging station for the inconvenience.
