Free Supercharging in this beautiful Model S! Autopilot on the highways for a smooth and easy ride around Kentucky and beyond. Truly the best way to visit distilleries and the scenic horse country. Car is equipped with a sunroof and a frunk for more storage space. The acceleration still outshines most newer cars with that silent cruising that EVs and Teslas are known for. The navigation system will lead you to superchargers en route and let you enjoy the ride! Great way to test a Tesla if you are thinking about buying one or a terrific birthday present. *Please Note- range and charging speeds are negatively impacted during winter/cold temperatures. Please request more information if renting during the winter season.

How can I make sure I don't run out of charge?
Whenever traveling, make sure to use the navigation system. It will tell you when/where/how long to stop on a trip. Do NOT take the traditional gas-car approach where you fill up, drive till it's close to empty, and then charge. The battery charges at different speeds based on station and how full it is. The car will take care of those logistical items if you tell it where you are going. This is crucial to being successful on road trips. There is a regular 12V plug-in charger in the trunk of the car. If there is a way to plug it up overnight, you should. It will only get about 10% overnight, but it'll keep the battery warmer/charging and give you and extra easy boost. Please make sure to return the cord to the trunk!
What percentage should I charge the car to?
These older models are NOT designed to sit with a full battery. If the car is sitting idle, do not have it above 80%. If you are traveling and just stopping to charge, trust the navigation system, which will rarely ever have you charge above 85%. Not only for the sake of battery health, but the charging speed drops significantly after a certain point, which means you could be at the Supercharger a long time if you try to get it high. If you have never driven an Electric Car, it is important to note that, unlike traditional cars, you don't fill up to full and then drive to empty. It is more like driving from Supercharger to Supercharger if you are doing a long trip.
Can I charge at non Superchargers?
Yes! These are vastly slower (good for when you are stopped a couple hours or overnight) and are often free or cheap, but you may need to download an app or use a credit card for that process.
Idle Fees?
You are responsible for all Tesla Supercharger Idle fees. Please unplug the car once it is charged to avoid these extra charges.
What happens if I drain the battery completely?
You will need to contact Turo roadside assistance to help tow the car and jump the battery so that it will charge again. Please note- you will likely be responsible for replacing the car's 12V battery in this situation (anywhere from $100-$250 depending on the situation). Please do your best to keep the car from dying! It will ruin your trip and add a lot of trouble/cost.
How does cold impact the car?
If the car cannot charge overnight and is left outside in temps below 35 degrees, the car's battery will take longer to charge and you can expect shorter range. Difficult to estimate how much these factors will impact your trip but you can assume charging will take longer and range will be 20-30% shorter depending on how cold it is. If you are traveling during winter, it is ideal to store the car inside overnight or leave it on a charger as often as you can.
