They filed an insurance claim for two paint chips and the tiniest scuff on their bumper. I didn’t even notice it until the owner pointed it. You literally had to squat down and get within a foot to even notice. Standard wear and tear for a car being parked on the streets of Chicago but they submitted the claim. Clearly money hungry and looking for any opportunity to squeeze a bit more dough out of renters. They better use that money on that bumper! Driver side Windshield wiper also didn’t work the entire trip.

There weren’t just the “tiniest scuff” on the bumper. A scratch 4in in front and passenger side scratches 3-4in wide and 2inches in length with paint scratches off. So you’re telling me if you had a car and you rent it to someone else and they damage it, you’re not going to ask money for it? You are ridiculous. I informed you the damages and asked nicely what you wanted to do. You look like you didnt want to pay anything for it. So I said it’s okay I’ll just file Turo, which you said is fine.

As I arrived the host was jump-starting the car, he stated the previous renter had had problems with it and lent me a jumpstart kit “just in case” which didn’t work. The car wouldn’t lock and wouldn’t start if left for a few hours as there was a known problem with the electrics. The car was dirty and clearly hadn’t been sanitized in line with Turo guidelines. We were unable to use the car for the majority of the trip and relied on someone jump-starting us to get home. Upon returning the host simply stated “give me 5 stars and you can have 10% off your next ride”. Avoid like COVID
