Description

Brand new all-electric 2023 BMW i4 with upgraded adaptive M level suspension. Easy to drive (same cabin feel as most current or recent BMWs). All Star host (read reviews). Dependable and committed. I have provided cars for over 100 guests and never cancelled. 100% satisfaction. At least 4 guests have ordered this car from BMW as a result of renting my i4 (one ordered during the booking). Heads-up display Lane keeping Blind spot detection Forward collision sensors Upgraded stereo system Animal-free leather Performance tires Weatherproof floor and cargo mats. Large trunk (split fold rear seats for even more space if needed). Pictures include fit for set of golf clubs and other baggage without lowering back seats (even more if one of more sections of rear seats folded down). Free charging at Electrify America stations thru Oct ‘24 (first 30 minutes of DC fast charging free; remainder charges at prevailing rates). Customer agrees to reimburse any charges to any of my charging accounts. Easy to find real-time charging options including most hotels. Car will come charged with at least 75% charge. Please return with at least 20% charge or a $50 fee will apply. Car is rated for 301 miles on full charge but varies based on type of driving (sporty vs eco charge regeneration with frequent stops). This is the opposite of gasoline cars in that mileage is better in the city than on the highway. Most visitors find that their plans for @200 miles a day works well as long as they can recharge overnight at a level 2 charger (Electrify America, EVGo, PlugShare, ChargeShare, ChargeFinder, ChargePoint, etc. and most hotels offer their guest level 2 charging) Strong preference to not charge beyond 90-95% of battery capacity (better for long term battery life) unless absolutely necessary or as rare exception. Just plan ahead some regarding your expected needs. https://www.caranddriver.com/bmw/i4 Contactless pickup and return possible using TuroGo and/or my cell phone option. I do my best to provide face to face meetings on both ends to make it easier for you but have several options to facilitate handoff. Rarely have to use the short term parking garage at RDU airport but if so, it’s easy to access and share location. Turo rules require that Host pay for parking if needed on either end of the trip.

Faqs

  • Where can I recharge in Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area?

Most area hotels now have level 2 chargers for their guests. Most visitors find that their plans for @200 miles a day works well as long as they can recharge overnight at a level 2 charger (typically a hotel). Current maps provided in pictures for Electrify America, EVGo, PlugShare, ChargeShare, ChargeFinder, ChargePoint, etc.

  • How far can I drive on a single charge

Car is rated for 301 miles on full charge but varies based on type of driving (sporty vs eco charge regeneration with frequent stops). This is the opposite of gasoline cars in that mileage is better in the city than on the highway. Most visitors find that their plans for @200 miles a day works well as long as they can recharge overnight at a level 2 charger (Electrify America, EVGo, PlugShare, ChargeShare, ChargeFinder, ChargePoint, etc. and most hotels offer their guest level 2 charging)

  • What happens if I run out of charge?

EV driving requires at least a little pre-planning if driving out of the area but generally speaking, it’s easy to manage. However, running the battery dry is not good for the car and requires a flatbed tow. There is a BMW roadside assistance number on the windshield you can use but you would be responsible for any charges as a result of running the battery dry.

  • I’ve never driven an EV but want to give it a try. What do I need to know?

Do not be intimidated. This car’s design is nearly identical to most current BMWs. There is some adjustment to any car. This EV is entirely approachable and requires about the same level of walkthrough as I provide for my non-EV options. I can provide brief videos as well as in person assistance as needed.

  • How fast is it?

I didn’t invest over $65k so strangers could abuse it. It can accelerate ridiculously fast which is great if/when needed. If your goal is to do drag races, rent from someone else please.

  • What do I do if i am involved in an accident?

The Help tab of the reservation record in the Turo app provides what you need including the following link for proof of insurance. https://support-resources.turo.com/incidents/US%20Incident%20Information%20card%202021-2023%20Travelers.pdf Do not use the Auto Owners Insurance card as that is my personal use insurance car. Please call if you have any questions.

Thank you for the opportunity to experience your EV. The performance was fantastic although it’s a great car for a couple I find it was tight for me and my family. Glad I got a chance to have it for an extended time to drive it.

RD's response

It’s definitely a more sporty ride. I love it but that is also why I just got the i5 and it is similar but much bigger inside. You’ll have to try that one next time.
