Description

The 2nd gen Chevy Volt is such a cool car. This plug-in hybrid gets about 50 miles in all electric range before it switches to hybrid mode with an addition 300 (or more) miles of range before you fill the tank, So if you only drive 50 miles between plug-ins, you can skip the gas station forever :) It also runs super quiet (so you can hear your music), accelerates like a normal car, has bluetooth, and is fun to drive.

Faqs

  • How do I charge the electric engine on the Volt?

You can use the charger in the trunk side compartment to plug into any standard outlet, or use the ChargePoint and/or Plugshare apps on your phone to find a charging station near you. The electric filling area is on the front left of the car. Most WholeFoods and Berkeley Bowls have charging stations. The car also charges by braking, so brake gently to maximize mileage.

  • How can I fill the gas on the Volt?

Fill like any car with regular gas.

Picking up and returning the car was completly hassle free. Ariel has a great set up with parking in the driveway and a charge cord right there. Everything went fine.

Great. Car was exactly what we needed. First time renter and no issues. Much easier than lines, paperwork, and inconvenience of airport car rentals.

I really don’t like leaving bad reviews but I have to be honest about this one. The pros are the car is a hybrid therefore it’s good on gas and a pretty smooth ride. The cons are that the car was filthy (inside and out) when I picked it up. Due to covid, I assume cars should be cleaned and sanitized before pick up. Unfortunately I had to clean and sanitize it myself as best as I could. That was my only big disappointment, other than that the car is ok if you’re looking for a good commuter and don’t mind the condition it’s in.

Ariel's response

I'm so sorry about the car, Mirna. I actually was out of town and asked my housemate to do the cleaning for me, and she says she forgot. So it wasn't cleaned. I'm so sorry as you're 100% correct that should have been done in between trips - in COVID times especially! Thank you for being such a conscientous guest despite the car being dirty.
