Description

This is a very well maintained, beautiful 'hard top' convertible special edition version of one of the most fun to drive cars (according to many trusted automobile driving articles/sites/magazines). If you want a true driver's car, this Miata will completely satisfy your needs and is guaranteed to put a smile on your face! Take it on a hilly/twisty road and you won't have had as much fun in most other cars at any speed. The black top on a scarlet red will also make heads turn as you zoom by. This is a 6-speed manual transmission so it is for an involved driver. It is also great to just cruise along the pacific coast with the top down and wind in your hair . Want a quieter ride? Just put the hard-top back on and it is like any other car. Putting the top up or down takes about 12 secs (you have to be stationary and in neutral) and you can still use the trunk when the top is down for a small suitcase or a few bags (enough to do multiple days). If you are a sports car enthusiast, it comes with sports suspension tuning, Bilstein shocks, 6-speed manual transmission and black alloy gun-metal wheels. If you want creature comforts, this special edition has seat warmers, climate control, 6-CD changer, Aux cable input and a Bose sound system. It has low miles on it, has been "babied" throughout and I still value the car very much. So I request that you are an experienced manual transmission driver and a responsible person. https://www.autoblog.com/buy/2012-Mazda-MX_5+Miata-Special_Edition__Power_Retractable_Hard_Top/equipment/ https://www.motortrend.com/cars/mazda/miata/2012/2012-mazda-mx5-miata-first-test/

Features

Manual transmission
Audio input
Convertible
Toll pass
Heated seats
Leather seats
CD changer

Parking details

There is ample street parking around the neighborhood which is generally safe.

Guidelines

Smoking is not allowed in the car. Pets are also not allowed in the car. I have a pet myself but I cannot regulate how others monitor their pets. Please be an experienced manual transmission driver. Please operate the convertible mechanism only when the car is stationary and in neutral. I expect the car to be returned in the same condition as I give it, especially the interior. So please take a few minutes to wipe down the interior and throw out trash and dust out the mats if you need to. If you have not driven it much and the exterior has not got much dust/dirt, you can return it as is. Otherwise, a quick hose down or a drive-through car wash (with the convertible top up) would be great.

Faqs

  • Can I use regular gas?
I would strongly prefer you use 91 octane gas. It is a relatively efficient car and if you would like it to perform please fill 91 octane gas. The gas tank is small (10 gallons) and should not set you back too much.
  • I am new to manual transmissions or do not know how to drive one. Can I rent your car?
I strongly recommend against it. Serious damage can be caused to the transmission and/or engine if not driven properly.
  • If I use your "Fastrak" pass, how do I get charged?
I will look up the Fastrak account once the car is returned and add it to the charges at the end of the trip.
  • Do I need to wash the car?
I expect the car to be returned in the same condition as I give it, especially the interior. So please take a few minutes to wipe down the interior and throw out trash and dust out the mats if you need to. If you have not driven it much and the exterior has not got much dust/dirt, you can return it as is. Otherwise, a quick hose down or a drive-through car wash (with the convertible top up) would be great.
  • Can I take your car to a race track?
    Absolutely not, under no circumstances.

Pickup included helpful tips on operating the retractable hard top and hidden features like the gas cap release. The car was fun to drive for a weekend away and the experience was pleasant all around.

Fantastic little roadster, in which it's impossible to be in a bad mood. Find some twisty roads and go for it. Like driving a go-kart for the highway.

Had an amazing time with this hard topped Miata. Really fun to drive through some twisty mountain roads. Putting the top down is perfect to enjoy the sunny California weather. Would recommend taking this out for anyone who loves driving
