Guidelines

LATE FEES I understand things happen and as long as we have ongoing contact and you are running late within a reasonable amount of time it will not apply late fees. Late fees will be applied once is determined you have violated Turo return policy. Late fees are described on Turo fees and fines page, and begin to accrue the minute that the car is late.  They are billed in increments of an hour (i.e., if the car is 15 minutes late, the renter is responsible for the first hour's late fee, and not 1/4 of that late fee). In the event of very substantial lateness, additional fines may be assessed. ADDITIONAL MILEAGE FEES Mileage is set and included for daily, weekly, and monthly trips. When requesting a trip, the traveler will see the included mileage for that trip. The traveler is responsible to pay for each mile driven over the stated included mileage. GAS FEES Guests are responsible for replacing any gas used during the rental, using the appropriate fuel (i.e., regular, premium, or diesel). If a car has less gas at the trip end than it did at the start of the trip, I will contact Turo and submitting a request for reimbursement for the cost of gas. CLEANING FEE Although I appreciate when a vehicle is returned in clean condition, I do not charge a cleaning fee to vehicles reflecting normal wear. In order to avoid cleaning charges my vehicle should be returned in the same condition it was rented in. If my car comes back “dirty,” there may be a cleaning fee charged to the rental. Cleaning fees varies. SMOKING This vehicle is considered non smoking rental car. Cleaning fees may be charged if a vehicle is returned in a condition where it needs to be cleaned and deodorized due to being smoked in. PETS Due to allergies NO pets are allowed in this vehicle. LOST AND FOUND I will not uphold responsibility for any personal belongings left in the vehicle or within the location premises. If you have lost items, please contact me soon as possible and I will do all I can to help.

I really wanted this to be another awesome Turo experience but sadly it was not. Eric texted me a long list of demands the day of pick-up, stating he wouldn’t be providing me with the lock box code until after he received photos of my license and specific photos of the car. I may be able to understand the license (which can quickly be added to the trip photos) but the car photos are excessive considering you have to take photos upon pick up and load them to the trip anyhow. Also I’d already paid for and booked the rental so not allowing me access felt rather rude. Also, I usually leave text and calls for immediate concerns. I’m sure most users will agree that it’s smarter to communicate about pick-up/drop off, trip changes, etc via the app. Anyway, when I got to the car it was raining and cold outside and I didn’t see the lockbox anywhere (naturally I grew concerned). I took all the exterior photos and uploaded them to the trip. I then messaged Eric on Turo as well as his phone, I also called and left a voicemail. He called me back but not before my fingers were frozen from standing out in the rain. Eric told me where the lockbox was hidden and gave me the code, but darn it if I didn’t have a devil of a time getting it to open! I suggested that a new lockbox might be in order. Once in the car I was hit by the strangest odor. It was foul and unpleasant, like dog’s wet coat mixed with sweet prunes? Anyhow, the car’s interior was also dirty and stained, there was a sticky substance around the cup holders..(I took photos). I was rather surprised because the outside of the car is somewhat clean for a white vehicle. The car’s back window had been left cracked and rain had leaked inside (I’m assuming this contributed to the smell?). As soon as I was able I alerted Eric to the car odor and the window. He said he’d check it out upon the return of the car. Honestly it seems logical that if you’re going to rent your vehicle out that you’d be obliged to get it detailed every so often? Or after a particularly long trip? I’m giving this rental two stars because the car was an amazing little driver and got great gas mileage! But those are the only redeeming factors I can think of!

The Prius was very clean and pick up as well as drop off was on time and hassle free. The only reason I gave three stars 1) the maintenance and TPS light was on. 2) when we picked up the car we had difficulty opening the lock box. When I messaged Eric asking if he had some tips to open it he never responded. 3) The pick up location was outside of a church which is totally fine except we picked up at 10:00 am on a Sunday morning... members of the church were concerned with what we were doing messing with a lock box beside a car prompting some members to come outside during the service. Other than those small concerns the car drove great and we had a wonderful time.
