I'm an easy-going person who just wants a safe, operational, and street-legal vehicle to drive. I decided on this vehicle instead of one of Andrew's other vehicles. Andrew did state that he was meaning to get the tires changed on Acura, but since I was not planning on driving much that it would be fine to change them out after my reservation. I picked up the car after midnight, so it was really dark, and I could not see some of the problem areas of vehicle until it was daytime later that same day. Having said that, I feel that the photos in the ad embellish the actual condition of the car as the car is in much rougher shape in person. Again, the pictures in the listing DO NOT do an accurate job of capturing the current condition of vehicle. Basically, the interior is indicative of a vehicle that has 150,000 miles, which the vehicle currently has. The seats are worn, scratched, and torn. The floor mats were soiled. There is smudging, grime, and discoloration throughout, and it smells like a 150k mile car. Also, after some research, Turo policy states that a vehicle cannot have more than 130k miles if it is to be rented out on their platform. I cannot attest to the a/c, heat, gps, etc… as I did not use any of those functions. However, I can attest to the driving dynamics, and truthfully, it drove like a vehicle indicative of its age and high mileage and DID NOT drive straight often pulling to the right. My arms got a work out every time I got behind the wheel. The pulling to the right, could have been an alignment issue or tire issue. Speaking of the tires, they definitely needed replacing and should have been replaced prior to renting out. The tires had extremely low, perhaps non-legal tread in spots and some areas towards outer part of tire were near bald. I voiced these concerns to Andrew and let him know that I was not comfortable taking the car up to highway speeds like that. Also, I had my children with me the entire time and our safety while operating the vehicle in said condition was a justifiable concern. Personally, I felt Andrew passed the blame onto me when I voiced these concerns because he clapped back that: I was the one who chose that car, and I was the one that said I wouldn't be driving much (Note: I only put 100 miles on car over a 7-day period of an allotted 1400 miles). Moreover, he mentioned that he did not know my kids were going to be in the vehicle. Honestly though, what does any of that have to do with it? Even if the vehicle is not driven much, guest (driver & passenger) safety should never be compromised! No matter who is in the vehicle, NO EXCEPTIONS! Furthermore, as an All-Star Host, you should have been pro-active and should have taken it upon yourself to make the call of replacing dangerous tires before renting out thus risking the lives of your renters. Andrew did eventually replace 2 of the 4 tires but there was still some uncertainty regarding if he would show up the next morning to do so. You see, I never gave him the address of vehicle; he tracked it down himself (privacy concerns) and took care of the 2 tires only informing me after the fact that he had done so. A heads up would have been appreciated as the car still had some of our personal items in it that I would have liked to remove from the car before he took it. Though Andrew did respond to most of my messages, multiple responses were filled with “presumptions” and “assumptions” which he just had to include. Renters do not want to be hounded with these presumptions even if they make you (the host) feel better about a rental experience. Unfortunately, this is not how I wanted to spend my week-long stay in Baltimore—worrying about vehicle safety issues, planning service / reparations to a vehicle that should not have even been listed, going back and forth with an obstinate host, driving a vehicle that was misrepresented, etc…. All in all, had I known all of the aforementioned, I would have walked away from the car from the very beginning. Even then, I was certainly tempted throughout my rental week to return it early due to the misrepresentation of vehicle. I wish I could have had the 4 and 5 star experience that some of these other folks on here had, but unfortunately, I did not. I’ll end on a high note: A positive of the experience was that Andrew allowed me to pick up the vehicle from his home, a 15 minute drive from the airport, which I thought was considerate of him and I thanked him for.

andrew's response

Ty for the feedback. We are sorry you didn't feel you received the 5 star treatment over 300 other guests have including over 50 on this vehicle. Even after accepting a discounted rate, special pickup & dropoff treatment to save you Uber costs, & replacing the tires within 12 hours of your complaint early in the morn so as not to disrupt your rental, it seems we dropped the ball. Yes, it was difficult to keep up w/ your 78 verbose messages, odd questions, critiques, & complaints but we did try.
