Description

Our Flex has three rows of seating to carry a total of seven passengers. If you have 6-7 people traveling and luggage for each, we recommend adding the luggage carrier and weather-resistant cargo bag (under extras) to free up some space inside as there is room to comfortably fit one large or two small suitcases behind the third row. A split-folding bench in the second row seats three passengers with cup holders on either side; two roomier seats in the third row, again with cupholders. Like many newer vehicles, the Ford Flex uses the LATCH system to secure child carseats to the bench. The driver and passenger seats feature power adjustability and seat heaters for the cooler months. The driver's seat also has memory settings for seat position, pedal placement, and side mirror adjustments. The stereo plays AM, FM, CDs, pairs with Bluetooth devices, and has a USB input for iPods and smart phones. We include our own USB to lightning, microUSB, and USB-C charge cords. Functions mounted on the steering wheel include: cruise control on/off/set/resume, track skip arrows to navigate preset radio stations and playlists, volume up/down, change media source, and a "hands free" button to enable Sync. The engine has ample power for trips around town and merging onto freeways. The mileage is decent for it's size, but obviously depends upon on your driving style. Typical, "mom driving" with kids to pickup, stop lights and traffic to navigate, and occasional idling yields an average of about 17mpg. Cruising on state highways at a smooth 55mph can stretch that up to 27mpg, and typical "road trip" cruising on the interstate at 75mph gets you about 24mpg. Our Flex regularly carries around our two toddlers and their cousins, so this vehicle is used to multiple carseats, Sesame Street toys, goldfish crackers and is, of course, kid friendly. You won't see much evidence of those kids when you take a look inside. Mom likes a clean car and Dad makes it happen. Your trip will always start with a freshly vacuumed interior, a full tank of gas, and an available booster seat for kids who are still under 48 inches tall (one of Indiana's seatbelt laws). Please help us keep our car in good mechanical condition by only fueling at stations that sell top tier gas (this is in reference to the amount and grade of detergents used, not the octane rating). These retailers can be found on this list: https://www.toptiergas.com/licensedbrands/ In Indianapolis, a notable exception to this list is Speedway. They are owned by Marathon, sell top tier gas, and are often the most competitive price. Some prevalent brands to avoid since they do not sell top tier gas are: Admiral, Casey's, Kroger, and Murphy USA (Wal-Mart). Lastly, as a protection for future guests with allergies and sensitivities, no smoking or pets allowed in this vehicle.
