You will be billed for any dents/scratches/damage done to the car or leather from moving furniture or large items during your trip, so I ask you to please refrain from using the car for this purpose. ✔️A violation of the guidelines above will incur a charge ✔️All trash should be removed from cup holders and side compartments before returning the car ✔️The car should be returned in the same condition that you got it in

  • Can I utilize the garage during my trip?

    For whatever reason, feel free utilize the garage that you pick the car up in during the trip, but please be aware that this option is only available for people who choose to pick up at car location.* You do not need to text me if you are going to utilize the garage at any point during your trip as I do not personally use the garage, but with that being said, please respect the space in and around the garage. Please do not touch or take anything in the garage. Also, please no smoking in or around the garage, and no hanging out in the garage/loitering on the grounds. If the garage will assist you in having a smooth trip, by all means, help yourself.

  • What do I do if I accidentally damage the car or car accessories?

    The best thing you can do in this situation is to be transparent and proactive about it. We are humans, and humans are perfectly imperfect - accidents happen! If you do happen to damage the outside or inside of the Mazda, please report the damage immediately through Turo's Claims Resolution Center and also send me a quick text. Depending on the type of damage, I may want to meet with you to inspect the car. Damages to the car including fender benders, major damage to the paint or body, will probably incur a meetup. Damages like stains or broken accessories i.e. the charging station, bike rack, child seat, etc. will be sufficed with a text explaining the damage so that I can plan to take the steps to replace or fix the items/damage.

  • How does the TxTag toll pass work?

    There is a TxTag toll pass in the middle of your windshield right below your rearview mirror that allows you to pay the lowest rates on the toll roads. It works like a prepaid phone card or gift card and tolls are automatically deducted from the TxTag account. Because of this, I do not require my guests to actively report toll usage to me during their trip - I will bill you at the end of your trip. The Mazda will always have a $20 prepay for the tag at the beginning of every trip; I will send you a notification if you go over the $20 prepay. Though you may use as many or as little tolls as you want, please be aware that you are still responsible for all toll charges incurred during your trip, including the $20 prepay. After your trip is finished, be on the lookout for a reimbursement charge within 72 hours of ending your trip.

  • How does the Carmax MaxCare Plan work?

    The main points you need to know about the Carmax MaxCare Plan is that it covers many of the most expensive parts of the car including the engine, transmission, drivetrain, electronics, electrical systems, steering, suspension, cooling system, and climate control. If you experience a breakdown for any of the reasons listed, you are first and foremost responsible for preventing any more damage done to the car. Once this step is taken, please contact me immediately. Any Carmax will maintenance the car upon proof of the MaxCare Plan, no questions asked. Depending on your preference, I will meet you to go and maintenance the car for your convenience, or if you so choose, give you a list of options where you can easily get the car repaired. Though nobody wants trouble during a trip, the MaxCare Plan can give you some peace of mind knowing there are steps in place to fix the car in a timely manner. *There are some notable exclusions to the plan including exclusions to some normal maintenance services, brakes, tires, catalytic converter, exhaust, body panels, emissions, and alignment. Similarly, though these types of breakdowns are not covered in the plan, please prevent any more damage happening to the car and then contact me immediately.

  • What do I do if I get in a crash?

    If you get in a crash, first please make sure you are safe - we want to make sure that you are safe at all times during your trip. After you have safely removed yourself from a crash, call 911 and move the car to a safe location (if this is still possible), please send me a text message immediately letting me know the situation and then call me. Texting me beforehand will let me know it is an emergency. I am a teacher so I do not normally answer my calls during the day unless it's an emergency. So, please send a very quick text saying 'EMERGENCY' and I will answer. I will meet you wherever you are so that you can get back to a safe location. From there we will take the necessary steps to report the incident. By turning on Incident Support before your trip, this will automatically notify Turo of any unexpected vehicle behavior. If they receive an alert, they will call you and check to be sure you’re OK. If you need help, they'll link you to support services. You will get a notification 24 hours before your trip if you would like to opt into Incident Support or not. I highly recommend using this feature.

  • What happens if there is a malfunction with the car?

    If there is a major malfunction with the car, please make sure you are safe, and then contact me immediately. Depending on your situation and your preference, I may come and meet you or give you specific instructions with steps to get the car repaired in a timely manner. The car comes with a 125,000 mile Carmax MaxCare warranty - reference Carmax MaxCare Plan above regarding malfunctions with the engine, transmission, drivetrain, electronics, electrical systems, steering, suspension, cooling system, or climate control.

  • What do I do if I have a change in plans during my trip?

    If you need to keep the car for longer than you planned, submit a trip modification request on your account. Similarly, if you want to return the car early, you must request a trip modification. Depending on when the car has or hasn’t been booked, I may or may not be able to approve your request. Early return requests will more than likely be granted but there is no guarantee for an extension of a trip. I must approve any changes to a trip via the Turo system in order for it to be valid. You will incur a charge and any repercussions from Turo for additional usage of the car if you bring it back later than your scheduled and approved return time.
