Description

2010 Lexus ES 350 Vehicle layout Front engine, FWD, 5-pass, 4-door sedan Engine 3.5L/272-hp/254-lb-ft DOHC 24-valve V-6 Transmission 6-speed automatic Curb weight 3605 lb (mfr) Wheelbase 109.3 in Length x width x height 191.7 x 71.7 x 56.3 in EPA city/hwy fuel econ 19/27 mpg CO2 emissions 0.88 lb/mile Those who enjoy the experience of the ES will not be disappointed with the 2010 model. As was the case before, power comes from a 272-horsepower, 254-pound-foot DOHC 24-valve 3.5-liter V-6 with dual variable valve timing, backed by a six-speed automatic. This is still the only engine/transmission choice, and the ES continues to be front drive only. When we tested the 2009 ES, it reached 60 mph in 6.5 seconds and took 127 feet to stop from that same speed, and we have no reason to believe the performance would be dramatically different for 2010-even though Lexus estimates its 0-to-60 time to be 6.8 seconds. Also not all that different from 2009 is the way the car drives. This is more freeway cruiser than canyon carver, and it seems everything about this car is more biased toward a smooth ride than making the driver's heart beat faster. Acceleration is quick off the line without being startling, and transmission shifts are nearly imperceptible. When taking turns at speed, the suspension is soft, and there is some body roll. However, twisty roads are not where the ES does its best work. Where the sedan really shines is in driving comfort on straight roads. Lexus wants to make sure you don't feel too much road irregularity, and the suspension does a fine job of keeping that unpleasantness out of the car. The ES has also traditionally come with plenty of amenities, and more were added for the new model year. Rain-sensing wipers were made standard equipment; also standard for 2010 are driver-seat memory and leather seating, Safety Connect, USB port, XM satellite radio, and rear-seat side airbags (10 airbags total). The interior received a few new touches, including a new wood/metal trim piece on the dash, new steering wheel buttons, and contrast stitching on the seats-and, hurray, Lexus finally got rid of the tape player. New features include a new cover on the center console, which adds a bit more storage space, two new coat hooks in the rear seating area, Eco light in the I.P., along with new nav software and new Bluetooth audio and phone features. The soft suspension does a great job of absorbing bumps and potholes; combine that with the quiet cabin, and this is a car that would be a terrific place to burn miles on the Interstate. It's a cross-country driver, one that won't cause you to venture off a 10-lane freeway for twisting two-lanes, but we can't imagine there would be much fatigue or soreness after several hours behind the wheel. The ES continues to be a comfortable, quiet, capable sedan that is ideal for the open road. It isn't as much fun in the turns as a BMW or Infiniti, but for those who spend a lot of time sitting in traffic or on long commutes, this is a great way to do it. And the 2010 revisions add more amenities to an already well-equipped car. Enjoy 😉

If I could give this a negative number I would, let’s see we got there and everything was perfect no problem with the pick up at the airport my girlfriend and I were super excited to get this car and actually have a great time in Denver, long story short not even two days later our nightmare began. We had plan to go see some family members because it was my girlfriend birthday and we were going to spend the day with them since we had come all the way from Florida, 30 minutes into the drive the engine light came on and I told my girlfriend, she got Jimmy’s number off my phone and called him because she was concerned about the engine light. Jimmy goes and assure that nothing was going on with the car and that it was probably a problem with the electrical but the car was in perfect condition, 20 minutes before we got too our destination that was 2 hours from Denver the car started jerking to the point that we almost got into a car accident thank god the car behind us was paying attention and slow down a bit, when I noticed the panel of the car it was running hot and the resolutions were super high, I started to change lanes trying to find the nearest exit because I was concerned for my life and my girlfriend’s, we found and exit and at this point the car is up in smoke, my girlfriend is calling Jimmy telling him that we are stranded in the middle of no where and the car is broken. That was at 1 pm it took Jimmy 45 minutes to find a different car to come and pick us up with a car that had expired tags none the less. To make matters worse he told me when i pick up the car that it had a gps for things like this but guess what that car did not had a gps because i had to go out to the highway to tell Jimmy what exit I was in since he did not know to makes matters worse when he showed up 3 hours later he was like oh yeah man! I know what is going on this happened last month, my girlfriend at that point was passed the furious point because he had time to tell me to come back and take the car to a repair center but no he decided to tell me and my girlfriend we were super safe and nothing was wrong with the car!!! Well guess what we almost die, I even had plans to go to Vail that day but we changed them and decided to go a different day, what would have happened if that happen in the mountains It would have killed both of us all because Jimmy could not be bother to check the car he assure me it was in perfect condition. This was supposed to be a super chill relax birthday vacation for my girl and it was everything but, I for once will not rent again from him and I’m not sure I can trust Turbo again.

Jimmy's response

I am so sorry about that. So after that car broken down. I gave you the refund with cash. I gave you my personal vehicle to have good time. But I'm sorry about the what happen to vehicle and you guys. After that I asked repair shop about the vehicle and they said it has transmission problem. Seems like previous renter or you guys did put it on the lower gear and running in the high way pretty long time. That's reason car is got broken down. Anyway I'll give you guys better service next time. 😉
