Guidelines

TIPS AND THINGS TO KNOW ON YOUR TRIP: 1) You will need to use the RFID card to unlock and start the vehicle by placing it on the column to the right of the driver door. It will work through a wallet/purse if you just get it close. I suggest syncing your phone to the vehicle for music/calls and setting it up as a key so it will automatically lock and unlock when you leave or approach the vehicle. If it doesn’t try resetting your phone Bluetooth. 2) There is a safety kit, ice scraper/brush, sanitizer, bug/tar remover, air inflator pump, and various charging cables and adapters located in the front trunk. 3) The Turo insurance and registration are in the dash glove box which you must open from the in-dash display at the bottom-left corner of the General tab. 4) Please do not change the maximum charge setting past 90% unless you absolutely need those last few miles as it is hard on the long-term life of the batteries and takes a LONG time to get that last 10%. 5) This is a performance vehicle so please note it has low road clearance and slick tires and will not do well in heavy snow / ice conditions and may get damaged if you attempt to take it on dirt or gravel roads. The vehicle will be limited to a max speed of 85mph unless you make special arrangements with me in advance. 6) The car will automatically route you free Tesla superchargers if you use the navigation for your trips. You can also choose to navigate directly by searching ‘supercharger’ for free Tesla ones or simply ‘charger’ for other options that will likely be slower and may or may not be free. Unlike a gasoline engine, EV charging takes time (15-45 minutes for a supercharger, 3-12 hours for other charging methods) so you may need to factor that into your trip plans. 7) There is absolutely no smoking or vaping of any kind in or near the vehicle. Kids and/or pets are fine although I suggest putting down a blanket to protect the rear leather seats (there are 2 car seat buckles on the top of the backseat). Please be respectful of my vehicle and other renters and if there is any odor or debris upon return you will be charged a minimum of a $100 cleaning/detailing fee to remove the residue. If you have any questions or concerns on your trip, feel free to message me via the Turo app or call me and I will do my best to help.

Faqs

  • How do I refuel / charge your car?

You can charge for free at any Supercharger station (there are local superchargers in Denver, Boulder, Estes Park, and Fort Collins) and thousands of other Chargepoint and other chargers (most of which are free to use) throughout the area, including most schools, libraries, and hotels. I have even recorded a video to give you a quick walkthru of the car's features - including how to charge it.

Car exterior was damaged by hail and front window had a crack. Rear passenger door was dented and forced you to open the front door before opening/closing the rear one. Touchscreen had cracks on edges. There were holes carved into the rear of the center console so that cigarette lighters could be “installed”. My wife actually cut herself on an exposed metal edge from this rigged setup. An anime figure that was covered in dirt and grime was superglued the dash and stared into my soul every second we drove. Car had not been vacuumed as floor boards and trunk were very dirty. The car smelled like the anime figure looked (not a good thing). We were scheduled to pick up at 2:30pm but wanted to meet Chris about 30 minutes earlier. I messaged him in the app the day before asking if this was ok. He did not respond. The next day, I messaged again, I texted multiple times and I called him but he did not respond until 1:00pm (just an hour before we wanted to meet with him and about 16 hours since the first message). When we arrived at Chris’s house, he came out in bare feet to show us the car. When he unlock the car he reached in and picked up trash out of the cup holders (but still left some for us to pick up ourselves). The technology of the Tesla was very cool and I’m glad I got to drive one, I just wish I hadn’t been grossed out the entire time. I can safely say this will be my first and last Turo experience ever.
