Description

The 2019 Nissan Leaf is a fully electric vehicle with 360km range. The electric motor is smooth, silent and surprisingly speedy. With a roomy trunk and seats that fully drop, the car is perfect for small moves and weekend trips. The GPS automatically shows all EV charging stations in the area, making it convenient to fuel up in a hurry. Be aware, the range of EVs can vary significantly through factors such as driving conditions, driving habits, usage of heat/AC, ambient temperatures, etc. During the winter months, especially in extreme cold temperatures, you can expect about half the range on EVs. Additional options - We offer complimentary downtown parking with a level 2 EV charger on-site. - We have a level 1 charger in the trunk of this EV, in case of long overnight trips or emergencies. This plugs into a regular outlet and can be used to charge up your vehicle from anywhere with access to power. Please note, the level 1 charger takes a really long time to fully charge the EV (upwards of 12+ hours depending on conditions like ambient temperature). NO PETS PLEASE -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The only reason I didn’t rate 5 stars is because of how damn much it costs to charge EV’s when it’s below zero, combined with the reduced range due the cold. I think an SUV would have cost less to fuel on this trip to Sudbury. That being said, the car is quite nice! Comfortable, easy to drive, easy enough to charge (just time consuming. Again, the colder the temperature is outside, the longer it takes to charge). Pickup, drop-off and communication was all 5 star-worthy. I just spent too much charging this thing. FYI Petro Canada upped their charge rates to $0.50/minute recently. Up from $0.33. I’d recommend the flo network, at $20/hr.

Peak Power GPI's response

Thanks for the feedback Christopher! Sorry to hear you had troubles with the charging time but sounds like the car was great to drive. Unfortunately this is a pretty big drawback for EVs on longer road trips. Our team also recommends using the Flo Charging network or even the ChargePoint network. Petro Canada charges on a per minute basis which seems pretty inefficient during the winter months.

Convenient location downtown, clear instructions for pick up/drop off, fast response time from host when contacted, pleasant to drive electrical cars. Would rent again from Peak Power.

The owner was an absolute 5 star host! He made the transition of receiving/returning car seamless! Will never rent another car in Toronto other than from him. The EV was Amazing! So clean and exactly as described. Thank You.

Loved driving this electric car! The contactless pick-up/drop-off instructions were straightforward and the car was easy to locate. Electric carshare is the future. Make sure you do your research on how to charge an electric car, if you’ve never driven one. It’s pretty simple, and once you get familiar, it’s really just like driving any ol’ traditional car. Ontario really needs more charging stations. We drove outside of the city, so it was a little annoying to find a charging station. But having a back up charger that plugs in to any wall socket was super handy, as we were able to charge the car to 100% before our trip home. Over all, we enjoyed our trip. And I can’t wait to book another car from Peak Power GPI. I highly recommend.
