Description

My 2019 Chevy Bolt EV, which I purchased in November 2019, is a fully electric car which is a ton of fun to drive! Renting this car is a great opportunity to try out an electric vehicle with minimal commitment, or if you just don't want to bother with paying for gas during your trip. What you'll get with this booking: - 🚗 Near new Chevrolet Bolt EV (under 14 000 km and less than a year old) - ⚡ Full charge guaranteed if booking at least 24 hours in advance. The car will be available with less than 24 hours notice for shorter trips provided it is approved by the host. Please provide details about your trip when booking so I can determine if the car is adequately charged. As I host I will always try to ensure the car is fully charged but this cannot be guaranteed if limited notice is provided - 💰 No charge required upon return, just please ensure the km remaining does not read LOW, which usually occurs with about 20 km of range left. - 👋 Contactless entry and exit. Just message or call when you are at the car and I will unlock it from my phone. Keys will be in the center console. If there are any issues, I can be there in under 5 minutes - 🧼 Car will be cleaned and disinfected between each use - 🌎 Stated range of 383 km (more range than a standard Tesla) due to its 60 kWh battery, but that's more like 330-350 km if you drive 120 km/hr on the highway, and can go down to 240 km range on really cold winter days. If you're just using it for city driving, the range is well above the stated 383 km - 🏎Fast acceleration (0 to 100 km/hr of 6.5 seconds), instant and consistent torque at all speeds due to having a powerful (150 kW, roughly 200 hp) electromagnetic motor, and amazing handling due to low center of gravity from battery pack running along the bottom of the car - 💡 Regenerative braking charges the battery and brakes the car without engaging the physical brakes by converting the cars kinetic energy into electricity to charge the battery. I rarely, if ever, have to touch the brakes due to the strength of the car's regenerative braking, which provides a completely novel driving experience. You can turn that function off if you want to have an experience which is similar to a gas powered car (or toggle between the two settings while driving - see the things to know section below) - 📷 Rearview camera with beep warning, as well as blindspot warning on side view mirrors - 🔥 Heated front seats and steering wheel - 🎶🧭 Android Auto or Apple Carplay to allow control and visualization of your phone from the large center display - ⭐ 24/7 roadside assistance by pressing the OnStar button above the rear view mirror - 👩‍👦 You can drive in HOV lanes with only one person, as it is a green vehicle with a green license plate - no waiting in traffic! -🎉 Very comfortably fits four large adults (no knees hitting seat in front or head touching ceiling) with large luggage and can do five with luggage - ❄ Winter tires if booked between mid November and mid April (put exact date in once you know when you will do the switch) - 🔌Level 1 trickle charge portable charger in car to allow plug into standard 120V outlets (this will take roughly two days to get a full charge however - included mostly for emergency scenarios or if you are staying for a couple days outside of the city) - 🐕 Pets allowed if properly cleaned after usage. A pet cover for the back seat will be provided if asked for Things to know about my Chevrolet Bolt EV: - Charging 🔌: Charging is available at free and paid charging points across the city. Look for Level 3 DC fast chargers for faster charging - IKEA has free ones that you can use, and some municipalities have free ones as well. You can find charging locations using Google Maps by searching for "ev charging", although a more reliable method is to download the free app ChargeHub (it just requires you to create a login with email and password), which I have found has the best network of available chargers. If you are travelling more than 150 km outside of the city (300 km round trip, or less in the winter), make sure that you plan where you will charge the car. - Regenerative Braking ⚡: When you first switch into drive, you will be in "D", which is normal driving mode. If you pull back on the shifter, it will switch into "L", which puts it into regenerative braking mode. In this mode, if you take your foot off the accelerator, the car will slow down by using the electromagnetic motor to convert the momentum of the car into electricity to charge the battery and slow down the car. With the Bolt, it is so strong that you do not need to touch the brakes to fully stop. Additionally, there is a small paddle on the back of the left side of the steering wheel that you can pull towards you and hold to increase the strength of the regenerative braking. Driving in this mode takes a bit of getting used to, but I always drive in that mode now. You can also switch between the modes while driving if you would like. Since regenerative braking uses the motor and battery, it isn't as strong if the battery is fully charged or if the motor / battery are cold. - Accidents: Call Turo immediately if you get into an accident. - I am not currently in Toronto, but my good friend Max Hickey, who also lives in the area, will be managing the car while I am away. You can contact either of us for assistance I love driving this car, and have been so happy about my choice to switch to an electric car. Hopefully you will agree with me after trying it out! Regards, Warren

Parking details

Free parking is available on Borden St opposite Central Tech school. I will share a photo of the car before pickup. Please use any available spot in the parking lot for drop off

Guidelines

- No smoking allowed 🚭: I am not a smoker, and would not like to have my car smell like smoke. - Cleaning 🧼: Please ensure the car is clean when you have finished your trip. A cleaning fee will be applied if not. - Remaining charge: It can be damaging to a lithium ion battery to have it fully charged or fully discharged. For this reason, the car is set to only charge up to 95% - please do not change this. Additionally, if the car is fully discharged, this can be very damaging to the battery, and a $300 fee will be applied if this occurs.
