Great service and car was great

The car was great, and Miguel left a J1772 charging adapter in the car to use at non-Tesla charging stations. We used the Turo Go keyless option for a convenient pickup and drop off. However, you should be aware that you need internet access/signal on your phone anywhere you want to get out of your car. We went to a state beach with poor signal, and we were locked out for half an hour! This wasn’t Miguel’s fault. If you decide to use Turo Go, just make sure you go to places with good coverage.

I was very frustrated with this rental. For many reasons. The car itself was just as described, but it was dirty. Not real bad, but dirty enough where you COULD shave written your name in the the dirt on some spots. So, first thing I did was have it washed. That was disappointing and an added expense. The pickup itself was frustrating. The car was left in a commercial parking lot with no lighting and the owner isn’t there. You are supposed to use the Turo app to “check out” the car. This includes inspecting for damage and then taking pictures of the vehicle. Absolutely impossible to do on a black vehicle at night in an unlit parking lot. The Turo app is incredibly buggy, yet that is how you access the vehicle. I have an iPhone XS with all my updates, but it kept locking up on me and throughout the entire trip, kept trying to get me to do the whole check out procedure (take pictures etc) every time I open the app. I was able to unlock the vehicle and take the car, but there was nobody to show me how the vehicle actually worked. The car kept giving me error messages that no key was detected when I was driving. Incredibly disappointing and I still feel I didn’t really know how the vehicle operated. I literally watched a YouTube video to get the car to run. Because the app was so bad, I was unable to ever lock the vehicle. The app would lock up, but not the car. I would have to take 100% of my belongings from the car because I didn’t want them to be stolen. I didn’t take the car on the trip I had planned as I didn’t have any confidence that I would be able to get into it and drive if in a remote area. Needless to say, I did not enjoy my time with the car and felt I wasted about 350 for a 1 day rental. I ended up returning the car 5 hours early and called the owner to tell him I had returned the car, but because the app wouldn’t work, I couldn’t “return” it through the checkout procedure and I was unable to lock his vehicle in this random parking lot he uses. He told me to just leave the car there and he would secure it remotely. The car was great.. I think.. but there is no way I would rent this vehicle or any other car that relies on the TURO app to access it. Even a day after I returned the car, the app kept giving me messages that my rental time was ending soon and I could extend my time if I wished. Anxiety provoking to say the least. I would not rent this car from Miguel unless he would be there and give you a proper “key” to access this Tesla. The app is too buggy and completely unreliable and will ruin your experience.
