Please respect my car. It is my personal car that either myself, my wife, or my mom or dad drives. Please do not track sand or mud back into it. Do not eat or drink in the car. Spills and crumbs WILL occur no matter how careful and attract ants and roaches as well as cause stains. I do not have a detail crew like the big rental companies. The hours and sometimes days lost of leaving a car at a detail shop for cleaning, vacuuming, and/or deodorizing is not something I want to deal with. Turo's cleaning fees will apply accordingly. Ultimately it will be their call based on the pictures you and I take and upload at the beginning and end of each trip. I take over 150 photos of the interior (ceiling, under mats, under seats, trunk, etc.) and exterior (undercarriage, wheels, tires tread, etc.) of the car before each trip for documentation and my protection in case of damage.
I take pride in my cars and are filled to the max, washed, and vacuumed (sand-free) before you get into it. Some may have permanent stains that do not come out with shampooing. These will NOT stain your clothes. My car must be returned with a MAX tank of gas (as I will give it to you max) as well as vacuumed and washed unless you prepay for cleaning or gas fillup in the Extras section BEFORE the trip starts. Turo fines for returning a car dirty or sandy up to $250. For missing gas they charge a $10 convenience fee plus the cost of the missing gas (I will upload photo of receipt).

Please CHECK IN AND OUT on the Turo phone app so Turo knows what time you picked up the vehicle and what time you returned it. The WEB SITE does NOT have the ability for you to check in or out so you MUST download the PHONE APP to do so. Please upload photos of the interior and exterior of your own or Turo may not insure your end in case of any cleaning or damage claims.
NO SMOKING weed, cigarettes, or vaping. NO PETS PERIOD ! MY SON AND I ARE ALLERGIC TO PET HAIR ! You will be fined by TURO $50 to $250 !
There are many car washes in Honolulu (and almost none outside of Honolulu) but the CHEAPEST one that you can go to WITHOUT an appointment that also vacuums and cleans the interior is McKinley Car Wash at 1139 Kapiolani Boulevard, Honolulu, HI 96814. $16 for cars and $20 for suv's and van's. Please check on the Internet or call them regarding hours and holiday schedules. When it's slow, you'll be in and out in 20 minutes. When busy, it will take over an hour so budget your time accordingly.
They do NOT vacuum sand out well since it is very time consuming so please avoid getting sand into the car to begin with. You can also watch them if they miss any spots. For fine sand stuck in floor carpeting, you'll have to make an appointment and go to a more expensive detail shop. Typically detail shops (Like Car Parlor next door to McKinley or Premiere Island Auto Detailing) will charge $50 and up for proper vacuuming of sand and will take over 30 minutes to do so. Of course you can go to ANY car wash / vacuum place you want or even do it yourself. McKinley is just the one I suggest because they are the cheapest.
Only the person on the Turo account can pick up and drop off. Do NOT book for someone else. You MUST bring a VALID driver's license when you pick up the vehicle. I WILL NOT release the vehicle if you do not have a valid license with a clear picture. I have a LIMITED NUMBER of GPS, child seats, bluetooth phone to radio adapters, USB chargers, snorkeling gear, beach chairs / umbrellas, body boards, soft surf racks, and coolers. Please contact me BEFORE selecting them in the EXTRAS section for availability. After we communicate, you need to ADD them in the Extras section BEFORE the trip starts. You cannot add them after the trip time begins. Only the USB phone chargers and bluetooth adapters are free the rest you have to add from the EXTRAS section. Some cars have built-in Bluetooth or USB charging and will be stated as such in their respective car description sections.
If damaged or lost, child seats cost $90, booster seats $35, GPS $90, USB chargers $12, and Bluetooth FM modulators $20. PLEASE SPECIFY if you need any. If not, they may not be available when you pick up the car.
Turo's number is 1-415-965-4525 and has free roadside assistance for towing, key lock outs, jump starts, and tire changes. For mechanical issues I may offer another car. If not, the trip will be ended and you will have to wait for the vehicle to be towed away. You cannot leave it unattended. The rest of your trip will be refunded. These are 6 to 33 year old cars. Even 1 or 2 year old rental cars at the big rental companies break down. I send ALL my cars to Goodyear for oil changes and checkups EVERY 3000 miles so they are properly maintained.
NO EARLY PICKUPS OR LATE RETURNS.
Turo only insures my vehicle and what it hits DURING the rental period. Had a renter get into an accident 7 minutes after I released the car to him 5 minutes early. Turo said I was very lucky it was 2 minutes into the trip otherwise I would not have been insured. The Turo insurance card will be in the glove box along with my registration. Turo charges late return fees so if you are going to be late, extend the trip BEFORE the trip ends so you won't be charged the late fee plus additional usage fee. You CANNOT extend the trip once the time of return has passed. Simply click "Change Trip" and change the return time as necessary. If there is a renter for the car right after you, you will NOT be able to extend and WILL be charged the late fee as it is unfair for the next renter to wait for you.
If you are going to return earlier than the scheduled time please inform me at least 1 hour ahead of time to make sure I am available. Do not show up early and expect me to be there. My cars ALL have a minimum rental period of 2 to 5 days. There are NO refunds for early returns and rental periods cut short.
No speeding, racing, or off-roading (gravel roads, sand, mud, red dirt areas, etc), even with my Jeeps.
Be careful where you park or you may be ticketed and towed. We have A LOT of metermaids and tow trucks here in Honolulu, especially in Waikiki. If you do not take care of the ticket, there will be Turo fees, late fees, court fees, and collection fees on top of the ticket cost and will be charged to your card automatically by Turo. My renters get towed and ticketed on average 3 times a month. If you get towed, some tow yards require me to physically be there to retrieve the vehicle. I may not be able to get the car out of the tow yard right away. If this causes a problem of returning the vehicle back on time, Improper and late return fees will be assessed by Turo.
Finally, you CANNOT just leave the car at the airport or at a hotel for me to pick up. Improper return fees will be assessed by Turo.
IF ANY of these points bothers you, please DO NOT BOOK or if you already booked, PLEASE CANCEL THE BOOKING as soon as possible so Turo does not charge your card and you don't get charged canceling fees (second paragraph).
