I booked this convertible to surprise my girlfriend with a romantic and fun road trip down Highway 1. Unfortunately, when we arrived at the lot to pick up our car, we discovered a couple of minor and major issues.
1. The car wasn't clean. We didn't mind that the exterior needed a wash, but the interior was also pretty dirty. There was trash, and used napkins and plastic containers full of what I think was ketchup in the car. When we brought it up to the employee who was helping us, she told us where the trash can was so that we could throw the stuff out...Wtf?
2. I booked this car specifically because it was a convertible and I had always wanted to drive down Highway 1 with the top down. When we got in the car, we immediately attempted to put the top down to take advantage of the nice, sunny day and discovered it wasn't working. We asked the woman at the lot for help and she told us she didn't know how to fix it. We then sat in the lot for 20 minutes watching YouTube videos and trying various things with no success and eventually just gave up. When we asked how they were going to compensate us for not delivering the vehicle we had booked, she told us there was nothing she could do aside from letting us return the car without filling up the tank.
We didn't let it ruin our weekend, but it certainly put a damper on our trip as it didn't even have a sun roof we could open up to enjoy the drive.
This was my first experience using Turo and I'm not sure I would use it again after this...
