Guidelines

It is best, to not let the remaining charge, fall below 50 miles. Please return the car with at least 50 miles of charge. No pets, and no smoking, please! A $250 cleaning fee will be applied if there are any stains or traces of smoke, foul smell, or pet evidence detected.

  • Useful tips to prevent range anxiety (that worked for me)
    1. Always assume that the last 50 miles of charge is not there. If the remaining charge shows 200 miles, you should plan on getting to a charger in 150 miles. The displayed range is under ideal conditions - 55 mph on a freeway, at warm temperatures. 2. Take every opportunity to charge at a supercharger. Even if you have 150 miles left when you are near a supercharger, please go ahead and plug it in for a few minutes. It might save anxious moments later. 3. Use waiting times to charge. If waiting near SFO Airport, instead of the cell phone parking lot, plug in at the San Mateo supercharger. On long trips, take breaks at superchargers. 4. Never cut it close. If the car runs out of charge, it will have to be towed on a flat bed truck. 5. If no supercharger, where possible, it is preferable to use 220V electrical sockets. These have the NEMA 14-50 or J1772 connectors. They typically charge at 20-25 miles an hour. The 110V chargers will give you just 5 miles an hour. 6. You can use the GPS in the car to find chargers.   • What is the cleaning policy?
    Please help keep the car clean. Here are the Turo cleaning policies: https://support.turo.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000808347 LIGHT CLEANING - NO CHARGE Minimal amounts of trash. Small amounts of crumbs, sand, or dirt on floor mats that can be shaken off or vacuumed out. Small marks that can be cleaned off easily by hand. MODERATE CLEANING - UP TO $50 Car exterior is returned significantly* dirtier than it was received (e.g. dirt on car body, wheels, or windows). Floor mats or upholstery are returned significantly* dirtier than they were received (e.g. requires more than a shake-out to be restored to original condition). Large amounts of food, dirt, or mud that cannot be shaken out and must be heavily vacuumed to remove. Light stains or residue on hard surfaces (e.g. liquid spills or sticky substances). *In the event of a dispute, Turo will use its discretion to determine the amount of the reimbursement. HEAVY CLEANING - $100 Major stains or residue on seat fabric or other hard-to-clean surfaces. SEVERE CLEANING - $150 Situations in which a car contains the aforementioned violations on an egregious level that would require steam cleaning or a full detail. PET HAIR - $150 If a pet enters a vehicle at any time without a host’s consent, the guest will be held responsible for having the car cleaned. It was awesome to get to rent this cool Tesla Model S for a long-weekend road trip with my wife. The car has about 220 miles of range on a full charge and there are many Tesla Superchargers in the area to stop at and get topped up for free. Considering the car's age and miles (2013 w 240k miles), it's in good condition and still drives very well.

Shubhang and his friend Chris were both so great with this rental. We were able to be flexible with returning it which made the end of our trip so easy and convenient. The car itself was stocked with water and chargers and it's obvious no need for gas was such a life saver. Charging was incredibly easy with the super chargers and the car's GPS was the best feature. We were often in places with very little cell service so our cell phone GPS was spotty and unreliable. This was my first time using Turo and if I'm in the area and need a car for a weekend or so, I will definitely use it again. Possibly even look for this same car :)

Just finished my first experience with Turo and Shubhang. It was a great experience and I will use again. This was definitely the way to try a Tesla and Shubhang and Chris were great with any information I needed. The Uber from the Airport to the Turo lot was also covered without an issue. Definitely want to use the Turo lot for inspections! The tolls and parking being covered was a great additional saving. It also felt great not to have to buy any gas! The superchargers are mapped very well and convenient to the area. Looking forward to future trips!
