Description

This is actually a 2018 Polaris Slingshot SL. There was no option for a 2018 though so I had to pick 2017. *This Vehicle is now a 2 Day Minimum rental.* I just recently added the Bimini top to it. The frame is permanently attached and makes for a great grab bar and way to lift yourself in and out of the slingshot. The canvas itself can be removed in a matter of seconds and stowed away in storage compartments if you would prefer all the sun exposure. This thing is FUN, FAST, and Freaking AWESOME! Got a hot date? Want to cruise town in style? Or maybe take a trip up north or cross country? This Slingshot can get you there feeling younger and happier than any other ride! I just bought this Slingshot on February 14th of 2018. It is replacing my 2015 Slingshot that I rented out last year. Those of you that rented with me before know how great the 2015 was, the 2018 is even BETTER! Those of you that haven't rented yet, check out my reviews and you will see what I mean. I respond quickly, you can book instantly, and I have a solid 5 Star review going and will do everything I can to make sure you enjoy your trip and continue to add to the happy reviews.

Parking details

My Neighborhood is Safe! You are more than welcome to keep your vehicle parked in my Driveway while you enjoy the Slingshot.

Guidelines

- Excessive tread wear will result in $50 fine! (If you really want to burn rubber, pay me an additional $250 cash and you can burn all the rubber you want) - Return it with the same amount of gas as when you got it. (Typically will always be full) You will be charged for missing gas - Premium Unleaded ONLY!!! Please save your receipts for proof. - Please communicate with me if your pick-up or return times need to adjust at all. - Please no pets in the Slingshot. - If you could return it as clean as you got it, that would be great! However it is not required. Excessive messes will be charged a minimum $150 fee for detailing.

Faqs

  • Can I leave the state with it during my trip?
If the Mileage and time allows you to do so, then absolutely! However, it is your responsibility to verify license and helmet requirements for each state you plan to drive in.
  • Is this a Car or a Motorcycle?
Depends...... In Minnesota it is registered as a Motorcycle. But as of 2017 it has be re-classified as an Autocycle. Each state handles the Slingshot differently.
  • Do I have to provide my own Helmet?
You Certainly can, but I do have a variety of sizes and types that you are welcome to borrow during your trip at no additional cost. Anyone under 18 MUST wear a DOT approved helmet per state law.
  • Can anyone else drive the Slingshot during my trip?
Yes, but they MUST go through the Turo approval process and be added to the trip as an additional driver. This is not intended to make it difficult or complicated but just to ensure you and me and the vehicle are all covered in case of an accident.
  • Is there any storage?
Yes, albeit a little limited, there is a sealed, lockable storage box behind each of the seats that is capable of holding a decent size backpack or a Full Face Helmet plus a little extra. There is also a pretty good sized glove box that can also be locked for your smaller, more accessible items. There are also 2 Cup holders
  • Can I leave my vehicle at your home during my trip?
Absolutely! I live in a safe neighborhood and have never had a problem. You are more than welcome to keep your vehicle parked on my driveway. You do NOT have to leave your keys, but can if you would like to.
  • Is it Rear-Wheel Drive?
Yes, and because ALL of the power goes to the single rear wheel, it is very easy to do burnouts if you choose to do so. With that said, any excessive tread wear will result in a $50 fee. Measurement will be taken during initial walk and also during the return inspection. Any measurable difference will result in the $50 fee.
  • What if it rains?
The Slingshot is an open cockpit vehicle. Meaning there is no roof, there is no protection from the sun, flying debris, or rain. If it rains, you will get wet! The Slingshot is very light for its size and power, and is prone to Hydroplaning in very wet conditions. If you get stuck in a down pour, its best to pull over under a bridge and wait it out. If you cant or don't want to stop, SLOW DOWN and be safe!
  • What if I book my trip far in advance, but then realize the weather is going to be crappy when trip gets closer.
That is entirely up to you to track and be aware of. Plenty of people have picked up the slingshot WHILE it was raining, and still have had a great time with it during their trip. Check the Turo Cancellation policy as it would apply the same to the Slingshot. Be sure to check all of Turo's FAQs for any other policy related questions.
  • Are Helmets Required?
Not in Minnesota (Unless you have a passenger under 18), although that is at your own risk and you MUST at least wear Sunglasses/Safety glasses. Safety Glasses will be provided free of charge for use during Night rides.
  • Does it have Cruise Control?
    Yes!!!
  • Do you need a Motorcycle License to drive it?
Not anymore. When it was re-classified as an Autocycle, part of that was removing the requirement for a Motorcycle License. What this means is anyone with a standard drivers license can drive the Slingshot!
