Guidelines

Gas: Gas is not included with your rental, please bring the vehicle back with the same or more gas than when you received it. Be sure to take photos for the gas and mileage before and after your trip. Missing Gas: If you do not have time to fill up the tank upon return Turo will charge fee in addition to the missing portion of gas. Returning the vehicle with missing gas will void our 15 min grace period for returns. Toll: For tolls, you can prepay the toll, pay cash or go through Fastrak. If you go through Fastrak with our vehicle, you will be billed for the toll. If you do not use Fastrak please keep the receipt. If you do not inform us about toll crossings through Turo messages, Turo will charge fee in addition to the cost of the toll. Please let us know via Turo Messenger with the tagline "I had X tolls crossings for this trip" so we can take care of these tolls in a efficacious manner! Tickets: You are responsible for all tickets during your rental AND for 24 hours following the rental period. If you incur a ticket, we will pay off the ticket for you and Turo will charge a fee in addition. You may elect to pay off the ticket on your own. Damage/Accident: Please notify us of any damage or accidents that happen during your rental. We appreciate your honestly and will work with you to solve the problem (we have good relationships with a few shops in the area). Cleanliness: Please return the car in as-good or better condition than when you borrowed it. No smoking or pets please, thanks! If you do smoke or have pets in the vehicle, Turo will charge a large fee. Lost items: You are responsible for all items during your rental. If you lose an item you rented from us we will charge you for the item and an additional service fee.

It is nothing what I was lead to believe in the photos, I had to pay for a car wash myself because of how disgusting it was. The car was shaking all over the freeway, when the gears would shift you felt the car slow down and you could feel the kick of the gear put into place, I was terrified of driving it up and down the hills, it was a NIGHTMARE! On top of that when I brought the issues up to "Lance" he tried to assure me the car was "Fine" trust me it wasn't. I will never rent a car from here again! Turo wouldn't even give me a refund it's crazy, nobody in Turo even inspects the cars to make sure everything is true!

The smart car was a great choice for San Francisco because it's easy to park, and it's great on fuel. The car is comfortable and a lot more zippy than I expected, and it was kinda fun to drive. That being said, you get what you pay for. The price is unbeatable, but the car seemed poorly maintained. Part of the front bumper rubbed on the wheel, it made a lot of abnormal sounds, the airbag light was on the whole time, and the AC doesn't work. Normally AC shouldn't matter in SF, but it just so happened that the first two days of our trip were in the upper 90's. The car was a miserable oven. The 2nd day, we took BART because we couldn't stand being cooked in the car. Aside from these issues, the car was great, the price was unbeatable, and I'd book it again if the AC and airbag were fixed.

Overall a good car for the price. Took a little bit getting used to because I’ve never driven one before, but after a while I actually enjoyed it. Super basic but perfect for buzzing around the city etc. Car wasn’t very clean on the outside in a little bit dusty on the inside but it wasn’t a big deal. For what I needed it for it was fine. Communication with Lance was perfect.
