Description

The Mazda 2 is an economical car that provides a smooth ride. Be mindful it is a manual transmission. The stereo was upgraded for a Bluetooth only stereo. This will allow you to stream your music from any Bluetooth enabled device. The four-door body makes it easy for everyone to get in and out, and the trunk holds more than what you might expect. I have had many friends and family who have enjoyed the ride with me and one family member liked it so much they bought one themselves.

Parking details

This is my office parking lot with plenty of room to meet. If you are local you could even park your car here when you meet up with me at a time that is best for you. When you come to pick up the car be sure to come into the office and ask the receptionist for me. I will come right out to meet you.

Guidelines

Thank you for renting my Mazda 2. I have tried to keep it well over the years, but being in Arizona it does have it's wear and tear from the sun and rocky landscape. As this is a manual car please be careful to minimize grinding the gears. Also with the car being a four cylinder it does not have as much pick up and go so I ask that you be mindful of your speed and use courtesy in your driving practices. I ask that you follow the turo.com policy of no nonservice pets and no smoking, please. I have a smoke free household and prefer to keep my cars that way as well. There will be a 200.00 reimbursement fee if there is any smoke smell left in the car. The car will have a full tank of gas when lent to you. Please be sure to provide the next driver with the same courtesy. I charge the cost of filling it back up under my prepaid gas service of 35.00 Please ensure the car returned is clean for the next driver so they have a similar experience. If the car has not been cleaned before being returned to me there will be a 35.00 cleaning fee. I appreciate the opportunity to provide my Mazda for you during the time of your visit and I hope you have a delightful time here in Arizona.

Great and easy trip! Priced right and good mpg. Thanks!

Christopher K.-Jul 28, 2019

I almost gave Christopher four stars, but he really went the extra mile, so I'm giving him five stars! I will definitely borrow this car again, if I ever come back to Phoenix and don't need a larger car. Here is my long, detailed review, with tips for the next driver: When I completed my booking, I noticed that the app had me down for Christopher to provide the car seat for $20. I had meant to select the car wash service for $20. I messaged Christopher and asked what his side of the application showed. He said it also showed the car seat, but since the price for the wash is exactly the same as the seat, I didn't need to worry about it and he would wash the car for me. I arrived at PHX at about 1am on my arrival date.  Christopher had the car ready for me in the parking lot of my terminal. He sent me pictures to find the car, told me where to find the key, and left the parking card and plenty of cash to pay the parking in the glove box. Well done! The main reason that I almost took away one star is that Christopher didn't take a picture of the placement placards on the wall where the car was parked (For example, Level 5, Row C, Column 8). That made it a little more difficult for me to find the car. He did text me directions for where to find the car, but with his directions (perhaps I didn't understand them) I ended up in the wrong row and had to search for about an extra one or two minutes. The car was also parked way over the line at the end of the row with the rear of the car in the stripes for the turning clearance. I am a proudly perfect parker, so this bothered me a little bit. I am positive he will do better next time. My cellular service internet signal (Cricket) was very poor in the parking garage. So, I took the required pictures of the vehicle, and went back into the terminal to use the free Wi-Fi to upload the photos. This took about an extra 30 minutes, just so you know so you can plan your trip accordingly. If you pay for your parking at PHX,  I suggest you pay with the people at the exit, if applicable. I paid cash inside the terminal and my machine did not give me a receipt. This caused some issues at the exit because my parking ticket would not read. The air conditioning in the car worked only after the car drove about 30 miles an hour for about 3 minutes, thereafter it worked just fine. I texted Christopher to ask him if this was normal, he said it was not and apologized. He said that he would have the car checked once I returned it. By the time you get the car, the air conditioning should work as soon as you start the car. At the end of my trip, Christopher gave me $20 for the inconvenience of the air conditioning. I told him it was definitely not necessary, but I greatly appreciated it. At the end of my trip, I also informed Christopher that the car vibrated just a little when going with the flow of traffic on the highway at 80 miles an hour. He said he would have the alignment checked along with the AC. By the time you (the next user) receive the car, it should be absolutely fine. I will mention that the speed limit was 65, and a considerable number of people were going 80, with some going 65. For a 4-cylinder, this car has great pickup-and-go power. It shifts smoothly. I did stall it quite a few times, but that's only from lack of practice on my part. The Bluetooth radio was an especially wonderful feature. There are practically no radio stations in Phoenix and the surrounding area, at least not that I could find near the airport. I turned on my Google Play from my phone, connected to the Bluetooth (1234 is the passcode), and it was a smooth transition every time I got in and out of the car. Christopher also provided a four port USB car charger (wires not included) already connected to the cigarette-lighter-electricity-port in the car. I brought my own external power-bank charger for my phone, so I didn't use his charger. However, I was very glad to see it there. When I completed my trip, I filled the tank with regular gasoline 87. I had driven for a day and a half (only driving 5 to 15 minutes at a time) around Tempe and Mesa. I stayed in Scottsdale, about a 25 minute drive from Tempe. I only needed about $11 to fill the tank. If you don't want to bother filling the tank yourself, Christopher charges $35 to do it for you. I parked the car in the parking garage for my departure terminal so I could I meet up with Christopher face-to-face to return the Mazda 2. I took the required photos, and my phone data was able to upload them. Christopher met me in the departure and baggage claim area. He was super friendly all around. As I said, he gave me $20 for the inconvenience of the AC only working while driving. I gave him his key, which, by the way, was a  very cool folding key. He had it on a green carabeener hook for easy use. I gave him his parking ticket and returned the favor by giving him more than enough to pay for parking. We also shared a hug and a conversation. Over all, I was super satisfied and grateful to both Christopher and Turo. I will definitely use this app again! This was my first experience with Turo!

This car was very affordable for our trip to AZ. It had been a few years since I drove a manual regularly and it was fun to be shifting again. The car was clean, easy to drive, and cost efficient. I would recommend for an affordable option!
