This 50 year old Austin America is a beautifully preserved car and nearly all original.
Most people rent the car for photo or film shoots and in that case I will deliver her and pick her up to avoid mechanical and insurance issues.
If you would like to drive her for your rental then please read the following. This beauty is 50 years old and comes from an era before most of the modern amenities we are used to today. If you are familiar with older cars and things like carburetors, choke, non-power steering, no passenger side mirror, etc then please send me a message with your proposed use for the car and your driver history. I am happy to rent the car to a guest who is familiar and knowledgable with operating older cars.
The Austin America was a special version of the two-door Austin 1300. Approximately 59,500 of them were made exclusively for export to the U.S.A. and were sold from 1968 to 1972. The Americas were intended to compete directly with the highly successful VW Beetle. One ad compared the road holding stability of the two by showing an image of the Beetle as a kite and the America as a brick.
