Guidelines

We ask that you please respect all our policies/rules and thank you for taking care of our cars. Turo is a vehicle sharing community; please be considerate to future renters and don’t do anything you wouldn’t do in your own personal vehicle. This vehicle requires only 91 octane PREMIUM gas, I will ask you for receipt for proof at end of your trip. - NO trips outside of continental U.S. You CANNOT take this car to Mexico or Canada. No Alaska or Hawaii trips either. - NO Smoking, vaping, marijuana, Juul, tobacco, drugs, illegal/banned substances in the car - NO air fresheners or heavy perfumes/colognes - NO pets inside the car - NO food/drinks inside the car - Please don't park the car next to sprinklers, they will leave hard water spots that's very difficult to remove from the car's paint and could potentially damage the paint. Please follow the rules above, any smoke smell, evidence of pets, or other foul odors will incur a $250 cleaning fee. The next renters after you could be allergic to your pet or sensitive to strong smells/odors. Pick Up: Please be prepared with your driver’s license or other forms of identification that matches the info you've submitted to Turo. I will need to verify it to make sure it matches the person on the reservation as well as the information Turo tells me. Only the person under the reservation may drive the vehicle, no other person/people are permitted and will not be covered by insurance if they do. If you wish to add an additional driver, please have that person create a Turo account (link above) and once he/she is approved by Turo, he/she can be added onto your reservation to drive. I encourage you to take lots of exterior/interior photos of the car from different angles and upload them to Turo. I will do the same prior to drop off and after the return. This is for your own protection and safety so that there are no disputes when the car is returned. You are responsible for the condition of the car in the duration of your rental as well as any damages that occur whether it’s your fault or another party’s fault . I strongly encourage you to purchase Turo’s insurance so you’re covered and not financially liable should anything happen. Remote Pick-Ups: Please be prepared to send me a photo of your driver’s license and a clear selfie with good lighting of you holding the driver’s license next to your face. After I verify the license matches with the information provided on the reservation and isn’t expired, I will give you the location you can find the car as well as the combination to the lockbox on the car window containing the car key. After you retrieve the car key from the lockbox, please close the lockbox and store it inside the vehicle until your rental is over. You will then place the key back inside the lockbox and return it the way you found it. Airport Pick-Ups/Drop-Offs (Curbside): Please send me your flight information once you have confirmation. (Airline, Flight Number, and Time of Arrival/Departure). I will track the flight and wait at a nearby parking lot, 5 minutes away, for you to land. Once you have all your luggage and are by the curbside, please call, text, or message me the airline sign you're standing under as well as description of what you're wearing so I can find you. I will then drive over and meet you at the designated spot. We can then either drive 5 minutes back to the parking lot to finish the check-in process, or you can elect to take the car and leave to check in on your own. Communication is key, so please keep me updated if you choose this option. Turo Valet Lot: 6:00AM - 10:00PM ONLY Please call an Uber/Lyft to 8639 Lincoln Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90045. It's the parking lot of the Customs Hotel in Los Angeles, a short 5 minute ride from LAX. The car will be waiting for you there and the attendant will check you into the car and hand you the keys. At drop-off, simply drive back and hand the car off to the attendant and he/she will handle the check-out process. There will be an Uber/Lyft waiting to take you back to LAX. Turo will automatically compensate you for the costs associated with getting to the valet lot and there is a $45 fee for using the Turo Valet Lot.

Faqs

  • Does gas need to be refilled prior to return? What type of gas?
    Please return the car with a full tank of gas. It uses 91 octane PREMIUM unleaded gas that’s easily found at Shell, Chevron, 76, Mobil, BP, any major gas stations. Please keep the receipt, I will ask for it at the end of the rental to verify the car was refilled with the correct grade gas. (Only exception is if you purchased the pre-paid fuel option, in which case I will take care of the gas)
  • Is Smoking, Vaping, Juul, or other tobacco products permitted in the car?
    No. Any smells of smoke or other strange odors will automatically be charged $250 cleaning fee in additional to lost revenue from future rentals as well as an administrative fee per Turo policy. It takes a long time to fully get the smell out and we might be forced to cancel upcoming reservations, greatly inconveniencing other renters. We cannot in good faith release the car to the next renter until the smell is treated. It doesn't matter how the smell gets there whether it's a passenger that has smoke smell on his/her clothes which transfers to the seat/cabin. This is something I will be very strict with and cannot compromise on. We ask that you please be considerate and don't smoke in or near this car, thanks!
  • What if I’m running late or need to modify my trip length? (Shorten/Extend)
    Please notify me on the Turo app if you are running late or need to shorten or extend your trip. There will be an option in the Turo app or online to modify your trip. I will do my best to accommodate, but sometimes extensions are not possible if there’s another reservation after yours. If you are late, there is a $50/hour late fee in addition to any lost revenue from canceled reservations charged by Turo. I understand that sometimes life happens and traffic is bad in LA, so I won’t charge you as long as it’s not affecting the next renters.
  • Are pets allowed?
    No pets allowed, no exceptions. Some people are highly allergic to certain animals and we will charge $250 cleaning fee in addition to administrative fees and lost revenue from future canceled reservations if evidence of pet is detected. Please be mindful if you are around pets that may shed fur/hair onto your clothing and get transferred to the car. It takes substantial time to rid the car of pet evidence and we don't want to inconvenience other renter's travel plans. Thank you!
  • What if I get a ticket?
    Please notify me if you get any tickets so they can be paid before they become overdue and late fees are applied. I promise you it’s the best and cheapest way to go about this. If you don’t notify me and I receive the bill in the mail later, I will have to charge you the full cost of the ticket in addition to the late fee and administrative fees associated with the ticket.
  • Can I take the car to Mexico or Canada?
    No, you may NOT take the car to Mexico or Canada. This car must remain inside the U.S. Do not take the car to Alaska or Hawaii either.
  • What if I go through a toll-road?
    Please notify me so that I can pay the toll before any late charges and administrative fees are added. If I receive the bill in the mail later, I will have to go back and charge you for the full cost of the toll in addition to any late fees or administrative charges. There's an option to add the toll-pass if you plan on using the toll roads in Southern California and I will ask you for reimbursement for the tolls after you check out.
  • Do I need to wash the car and clean the interior prior to return?
    We always wash/wax our cars and sanitize the interior before delivery. Please return the car in a similar condition. We offer a post-trip cleaning add-on that can be purchased to save you time so you don’t need to wash the car. I’m very reasonable and will only ask for reimbursement for a car wash if the car is in a condition that’s not acceptable for the next customer. If you choose a car wash, please select the “hand wash” option because the machines can damage parts on the car and cause scratches on the paint that you will be liable for.
  • What if I damage something on the car?
    Please notify me as soon as possible if you notice any new damage on the car from the rental. I will always work with you to find the best solution to the problem. If you do not notify me, and I discover it later, I will take it as a sign that you are trying to hide it from me. I have several years of experience working with body shops and insurance companies to know right away whether something can be easily fixed or will need to go through insurance.

Despite one tire being defective, he went out of his way to be very accommodating on getting the tire replaced while minimizing any inconvenience for me on my first trip to LA in many years. His communication was outstanding and he's as friendly as they come. I highly recommend him!
