Keep Kauai Green and drive electric with many FREE charging stations on Kauai. Kauai generates almost 50% of it's energy from renewable energy systems. Therefore your EV charge sends money to community solar farms, local biomass power plants, or the owner of rooftop solar panels which keeps more money circulating directly on island instead of off shore billionaires. No fuel needed. Free parking at the Lihue Airport and preferred EV parking stations on the island. +Air conditioning. +Rear View Camera with large screen / GPS +Great Sound System +Battery has a 65 mile range +Charge overnight in any normal household outlet ---110V. 220V hookup is not required!

Justin is a straight shooter, that takes care of his clients. I'm glad I got to rent his car.

Justin was awesome. He has very clear instructions and is always available when I had questions. He even provides tools to clean the car before you return it- very thoughtful. Renting an electric vehicle is not for everyone. We wanted a way to get around and explore other parts of the island. I spent so much time worrying about where the next charging station would be and waiting around for it to recharge. The mileage is not an accurate portrayal of what the car will do. I drove the car in eco-mode, I didn’t run the AC, and still the car used miles way faster than I anticipated (even on relatively flat roads). Driving the roughly 10 miles from where I was staying to return the car used 30 miles on the car. Renting from Justin is awesome, but be aware of what you are getting yourself into with the electric vehicle. Plan to spend a lot of time waiting. Waiting for the car to recharge. Waiting for the public charging stations to become available. And give yourself time to drive to a charging station near the drop-off point to recharge before you return the car so you don’t get charge extra for not having the car charged.

The leaf worked well!

The car was clean and Justin was easy to work with. The biggest problem I had was finding a convenient place to charge the car. There was only one public charging station at the Ross in Kapaa and the car takes many hours to charge (overnight is reasonable). Other charging stations I saw on the map were out of service. I was staying with a friend, so I could plug into their house at night, but if I'd been at a hotel or condo, I would have had to park the car at Ross and walk everywhere. Charging is very inconvenient on the island at this time.
