I needed a rental while my car was at the shop. When I went to pick up the car at 8am, it had a few scratches & stains but nothing major, so I thought. I thought the car was fine but when I got home my husband noticed that the tires were bold and needed replacement ASAP. I didn't know anything about the tread in a tire or I wouldn't have drove it home to begin with. I contacted Karina that her car was unsafe & I needed to return the car to her unless she replaced the tires. She agreed to replace the tires but didn't meet up with me until 11 am. They only had one tire and had to order the other tire from the warehouse. They wouldn't receive the tire until 2 or 3 pm then they would be able to replace the tires. I decided to cancel the trip because I had rented out the car since 8 in the morning & didn't even have it; I wasted my whole day & truly didn't like that someone would rent out a car in that condition. I have two young children, a 2 year old and a 2 month old, God forbid something would have happened. I messaged Karina letting her know I was cancelling the trip and called and emailed Turo letting them know as well. They told me in order to give me my full refund, they had to contact Karina and confirm she had her car. I understood that but she wasn't answering. I messaged her and asked her if she could please contact Turo and confirm that she had her car since the morning. She replied with, 'I'll let you know when I have it.' Like I mention, I picked up the car and drove home. As soon as I got home & my husband saw her tires, I contacted her right away. I waited for her to arrival & she didn't get there until 11 am ! I wasn't going to drive the car back to her in those conditions, it wasn't safe. As soon as she got there, I handed her the car & key so for her to say that she'll let me know when she has it was wrong and was a lie. She wasted my entire day ! I called customer service 4 times that day, trying to get my refund back but they couldn't refunded me until she confirmed she had her car ! & she wasn't cooperating, she was making it very difficult. She then went on saying that yes the tires were bad but nothing would have happened and that I owed her gas ! for a car that I didn't even have & ending up cancelling ! ! Horrible experience ! didn't even apologize for the inconvenience and for renting out an unsafe car ! !
