Description

For those looking to row their own gears and zip around in a fuel-efficient vehicle. The Mazda 3 handles very well, will get you where you need to go and averages 35 MPG with mixed driving. For being a "compact" this has lots of leg room in both the front and back. Will come with a phone mount, charging cable, and audio cable. Let me know if you need additional cables. Everything works as expected and I have not had any issues with the car as my personal vehicle in the last two years of ownership. I work full time during the week so we may need to make arrangements for trips beginning during business hours. Something I have learned on Turo, it is much easier to book the vehicle and pick up later than the time requested and dropping off earlier than your time and end the trip though Turo. Once you have the car booked, you are booked! I can also provide a bike rack that will hold up to 4 bikes, roof bag or pet hammock for the rear seat for a reasonable fee for the traveling adventurers. See the extras! Please return the car in the same condition in which you received it. If you feel there is not enough time before your trip ends to clean the car, there are extras for cleaning the interior and exterior. This can be done before or during the trip. Just send a message that you would like to add the cleaning and it will be added to the reimbursement after the trip is complete. Make sure to change your settings in the driver profile to include manual transmissions. Check out the FAQs for additional information. For this vehicle, there is no smoking or vaping and a $200 professional detail will be passed on if smoking did occur in the car at any point in the trip. If the included cables are damaged or missing, a $15 replacement fee will be added. Since this is Colorado, be mindful of the weather. Passenger Vehicle Chain Law can be in effect at anytime specifically on State Route I-70. Please do not risk your safety and be on the roads during those severe weather events. There are fines associated with driving under these conditions.

Guidelines

As a courtesy for the next renter, please vacuum the vehicle prior to drop off if you did not pay for the cleaning extra. The car will be ready with a full tank of fuel and is expected to be full for the next renter. Make sure that your license matches your account name exactly. If not, this may result in a canceled booking.

Faqs

  • How do I enter reverse?
Push the shifter all the way down, then way to the left and up. This is a safety feature in newer manuals. I will demonstrate before leaving.
  • Will I be charged a late fee?
If you are going to be late, please let me know, then contact Turo to extend the time. More than an hour or if there is a back to back request and a late fee may be charged. Please see FAQ #5 for more info. It is better to rent the car for longer and return early then return late as there may be another guest who has booked.
  • Why is there a deposit?
Turo implements a deposit of $100-400 and it varies on the driver and vehicle so I cannot say for sure how much it would be. This covers incidentals such as over mileage or post-trip cleaning.
  • Do I have to worry about hills in a manuel?
Fret not! This car does have hill start assist. No riding the clutch on a hill in this car!
  • Are you flexible with pickup and drop off time?
Of course! If you need more or less time with the car, contact Turo or make the change in the trip. Keep in mind this may result in fees if the time is over a certain amount of hours. I do not have control over these fees. This is done to prevent double bookings, lapses in insurance, late drop-offs, and miscommunication. The only change I can make on my end is canceling the trip.
  • How do I start the car?
Depress the clutch, push the start button! You are set!
  • Where can I clean the car?
There is a self serve car wash called Safari Car wash about 3 minutes away. They have vacuums, shampoo, and other car cleaning supplies.

Dakota was super helpful with advice for the Colorado trip and any questions concerning the car. The Mazda 3 is fun to drive especially on the mountain roads thanks to the manual transmission. It's also got plenty of room for gear, and it gets lots of miles for a gallon.
