This is my 100% honest review I have text messages, pictures and an email from Turo to prove what I am about to state. I needed a car to visit my family in NY. My grandmother is ill and I needed a vehicle to be able to visit her in PA and my mother in NY. So that’s how my business relationship with Billy began. The total cost for the rental was $379.26 which included a fee of $60 to have the car be picked up and dropped off at the terminal curbside. On the same day that the reservation was made he messaged via text about using a 3rd party parking garage called snap. Billy’s reasoning for the use of the garage instead of the terminal curbside service was just incase my flight was delayed I would have peace of mind with the car being parked there waiting for me. This was a charge of $16.34 that I had to pay out of pocket. Which didn’t sit well with me since I had already paid a $60 fee to have my pick up and drop off location be TERMINAL CURBSIDE. So Billy sends me a text message at 10pm saying “2 days in a row ... I didn’t receive the email with your SNAP parking reservation” I felt pressured. I really needed the car so I paid the extra $16.34 and picked it up at the 3rd party garage. I also asked him to never text me that late again. I felt that it was extremely rude and unprofessional. The car was as it’s shown in the pictures. While i was on my trip Billy asked me if i had a family member with an address in New Jersey(where i was flying out of) so that i could leave the car parked there instead of having to use the 3rd party parking garage again. I had forgotten about the $60 terminal curbside fee that was included with the reservation and tried to find someone with a residential address in NJ to leave the car parked as he requested and then realized I’d have to find a way to the airport if I did leave the car behind. Which if i took a cab would again cost me more money out of pocket. So I explain to Billy that this suggestion of his wasn’t going to work and remind him of the $60 terminal curbside fee I had paid for so i wouldn’t have to worry about having to find a way to the airport. Then he tells me that he’s unable to meet me at the airport by 4pm which is the time I had to return the car and that best option would be to use jiffy parking which was $42.00. This was now 4 hours before the end of my Reservation with the car. again I would have to come out of pocket and pay the $42 to use the jiffy parking garage but the bright side as he put it was that they had a free shuttle to the airport. Of course i declined and again reminded him of the $60 terminal curbside and explained to him that I didn’t have the funds for the $42 jiffy parking. So then he suggests leaving the car at his uncles property in NJ which was 25 minutes from the airport. Which again would leave me with no transportation to the airport. I decline again and decide to call Turo. They did help me and look into the situation and came to the conclusion that it wasn’t right that i paid the $16.34 for the snap parking garage and that he should refund me for that. They also explained that I could leave the car at the terminal curbside like I requested when paying for the reservation and once i did leave the car there that I wouldn’t be liable for Billy not picking up the car on time and what ever consequences that could have occurred.(car being towed/tickets) I have this written in an email from Turo customer service. So because i wouldn’t want his car to get towed and him have to pay so much money trying to get it back I decided to leave it at the terminal parking lot at the airport. I placed the Parking ticket and car key in the glove compartment and locked the car because he stated that he had an extra key. Now again all of this happened 4 hours before my flight was scheduled to leave and I didn’t have much time to fill the tank up with gas and left it on half a tank. Billy text me at 12:34 am with a receipt of the fuel he added to the car basically telling me I was responsible for that balance which was $21.45. Again very rude and unprofessional. I told him that he still owed me the $16.34 for the snap parking that Turo customer service stated that I was entitled receive from him. And that would leave him with a $5.11 difference. I also reminded him that messaging me so late at night was inappropriate. I then reminded him that I had previously asked him not to contact me so late previously. I’m beyond disappointed because this was my first time using Turo. I’m not sure if it would be my last but I am very sure to make it clear next time of my expectations and when i choose to pay an extra fee for terminal curbside service that i would be definitely receiving it.
