Our newest purchase is the perfect car for our family, and we hope a perfect fit for your trip too! When we decided to buy new, our must-haves were: safety features like Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), pedestrian detection, and blindspot monitoring; Apple Carplay/Android Auto; heated front seats; and leather interior. You'll find all of these in our newest purchase and a whole lot more.
The Sonata has a push button start, passive entry (button on the door handle; no need to unlock with the keyfob), as well as a hands free Smart Trunk feature that senses the keyfob in your pocket and opens the trunk for you when your hands are full. Comfort, eco, and sport driving modes allow you to tailor the car to your driving style. The car was delivered to the dealership with cloth interior, but was quickly sent out for an appointment to install custom black leather with cobalt blue accent stitching. It also spent some time at Ziebart to receive some rust prevention and paint protection treatments as well as dark (15%) window tint to help keep this black on black sedan cooler in the summertime (and create a mean, borderline-celebrity look). It's worth noting that the nanoceramic tint installed reflects over 99% of harmful UV-A/B rays, reduces glare by 90% and rejects over 58% of incoming heat all while creating zero cell signal interference unlike metal-containing tints.
The driver's seat features 8-way power adjustability and heated seats (driver and passenger) for the cooler months. The 7-inch color touchscreen plays AM, FM, CDs, pairs with Bluetooth devices, and has a USB input for Apple Carplay and Android Auto (You can view a complete list of apps for your iPhone that will integrate with Carplay at: www.apple.com/ios/carplay/ and Android Auto-compatible apps are here: play.google.com/store/apps/collection/promotion_3001303_android_auto_all). We include our own USB to lightning, microUSB, and USB-C charge cords (when available). Your passengers in the back are welcome to bring their own USB cords and charge a device on the charge-only USB port in the back seat. Functions mounted on the steering wheel include: Smart Cruise Control on/off/set/resume/adjust following distance, up/down arrows to navigate preset radio stations or skip tracks, volume up/down, call answer/end, and a "hands free" voice recognition button.
The engine has ample power for trips around town and merging onto freeways. The mileage is on par for a midsize sedan (EPA estimated 25/35/28 city/hwy/combined, but i've averaged as high as 42mpg highway in eco mode when traveling 55mph).
Our Sonata regularly carries around our two carseat-aged sons, so this vehicle is used to multiple carseats, Sesame Street toys, goldfish crackers and is, of course, kid friendly. You won't see much evidence of those kids when you take a look inside. My wife likes a clean car and I make it happen. Your trip will always start with a freshly vacuumed interior, a full tank of gas, and an available booster seat for kids who are still under 48 inches tall (one of Indiana's seatbelt laws).
An active Hyundai blueLink subscription means you always have a team member ready to respond to any and all accidents you may experience, even if you're unable to push the button yourself.
Please help us keep our new car in good mechanical condition by only fueling at stations that sell top tier gas (this is in reference to the amount and grade of detergents used, not the octane rating). These retailers can be found on this list: https://www.toptiergas.com/licensedbrands/
In Indianapolis, a notable exception to this list is Speedway. They are owned by Marathon, sell top tier gas, and are often the most competitive price. Some prevalent brands to avoid since they do not sell top tier gas are: Admiral, Casey's, Kroger, and Murphy USA (Wal-Mart).
Lastly, as a protection for future guests with allergies and sensitivities, no smoking or pets allowed in this vehicle.
