  • Can you explain why I need insurance?
    INSURANCE is a Must, do not rent without TURO insurance: Guests are financially responsible for physical damage to the host's vehicle if the claim is deemed eligible INSURANCE is a Must, do not rent without insurance: Turo Rule: https://support.turo.com/hc/en-us/articles/203990610-Detailed-explanation-of-insurance-and-protection-provisions-renters Primary Guest: The primary guest is responsible to return the car on time and in essentially the same condition it was in when they first received it. The primary guest is financially responsible for all physical damage unless they provide documentation of pre-existing damage. The primary guest may document pre-existing damage by uploading Trip Photos at the beginning of the trip, by uploading pictures and a description to support.turo.com at the start of the trip, or has documented an agreement with the owner regarding pre-existing damage by using our “Trip Checklist” or similar means.   • I'm a first time renter, what can I expect?
    As a first time renter, I want to make sure you're more than thrilled with your first experience on Turo. My cars always come ready and with a full tank - Once you complete your booking, if you chose delivery, the car will be delivered to the airport (sometimes to given location). If you choose to pick up the vehicle it will ready to be picked up at the vehicle's location. The vehicle's location is revealed to you only after a completed booking.

I appreciate the system of getting and returning the car - a very convenient and simple transaction. I am, however, disappointed that the owner has decided to charge me for "cleaning" a day after I had returned the car. I had returned it in a very similar state to when I had received it. If anything, the first thing I noticed in the car was the strong fried chicken smell and everything felt sticky. I had to go buy wet wipes immediately and wipe everything down several times. Upon the return of the vehicle, I had stepped out of the car before I wiped everything down several times again. The owner did not provide a removable rug, but I did my best to pick out leaves/twigs that were left behind in the driver's seat (I was the only person using the vehicle), and made sure that there was no mud stain. In fact, I wiped my own shoes with wet wipes before entering the vehicle to be careful. There are dust and speckles that could easily be removed using a vacuum, but definitely nothing major. I was not going to mention the fried chicken smell and the stickiness, and was ready to rate this owner 5 stars until I received the reimbursement request for "cleaning". I am very disappointed and feel cheated.

Guest left the exterior of the vehicle very dirty. I requested the reimbursement and explained the charge to the guest. Jessica explained that she wiped the interior of the vehicle and it was raining at the time of drop off. I extended the offer of waiving the fee for her to which the guest accepted but still posted a negative review.
