------ ABOUT THE Model 3------
Drive the amazing Tesla Model 3 and experience Colorado with an electric difference! No video or description can bring you the experience, you have to drive it! Quiet, smooth, but sports car thrilling to drive. The acceleration and handling is beyond words. Whether you simply want to enjoy the ride or are considering buying a Tesla and want to really try it out, we can help you.
This car's specs: 320 miles of range when fully charged, enabled Enhanced AutoPilot, premium sound system, glass panoramic roof, premium interior with black seats, lightning cables for smartphone charging in the front, and two USB ports in the back of the center console.
The car lives at the FINE Airport Parking lot, about 7-8 minutes from Denver International Airport (see more details below). It is open 24/7/365 which we've found to be a more convenient pick-up for our Turo clients than coordinating deliveries from the suburbs. Take the FINE Airport Parking shuttle bus to the lot, they have a customer pick-up spot on ISLAND 3 outside the baggage claim area on LEVEL 5. The FINE and Hassle-Free staff are great! They are there to handle your Turo check-in and check-out, all you'll need is the drivers license(s) of the drivers you've registered with Turo. Check the Turo website for particulars around coverages, etc.
Everyone worries about charging in the beginning but it's actually easier than you think. You can use any Tesla Supercharger and the cost will be passed along in your Turo rental. The Supercharger knows who we are and automatically charges our account. Best information we have is a full charge (20% back to 80%, a 60% recharge) will cost $10-$12. Any idle fees (not moving the car from the Tesla charging bay after charging is complete) will be billed to you. Avoid them by noting how long the charge will take when you hook up and be ready to move the car when the charge is complete. Other charging options include destination chargers at hotels and stores (the grey pins on the Tesla Charging map) which may be free or not (pay for them directly), RV parks or other 220v hook-ups, or any 110v outlet (although those could take 24+ hrs to get you a full charge). Superchargers have their own cables, use the cable/adapter in the sub-compartment under the trunk floor for those situations.
That all sounds overwhelming, but think of the car like your smartphone. You notice what the charge level is as you use it and at night, you plug it in. On the road, you simply plan ahead a little and decide where and when you'll charge up. A full charge at a Supercharger takes 40 minutes or less. Generally located at malls or hotels (Hampton Inn off Pena BLVD near DIA is convenient) gives you enough time to hit the rest rooms, get a coffee, or look around. Or catch up on email while you wait in the car, in a climate-controlled environment.
Driving the car is familiar but operating it is different, beginning with the door handles! You'll need to know how to change the basics. If you aren’t familiar with the Model 3, watch these short orientation videos: https://www.tesla.com/support/Model-3-videos.

------ PICK UP & RETURN @ DEN FINE AIRPORT PARKING ------
ABOUT EVs - SUPER IMPORTANT!!!
To help ensure your vehicle is full when you arrive, we advise you book the vehicle 8-12 hours before you intend to arrive. The reason for this is because Turo allows the car to be booked back to back (there's no way for us to change that) and if the prior guest brings it back empty, it will not be full for you. Giving a buffer at the beginning will help ensure we have time to charge the car.
Also as a reminder, be sure to check out what charging stations are available along the routes you'll be taking. A great app that's highly rated for finding them is called PlugShare and it's available for all devices. Keep in mind that some charging stations will cost money and you'll need to have your own account. PlugShare should provide information about which ones cost money and which ones don't.
