This 4 wheel drive 1994 Ford Explorer has comfortable seating for 5 and is a great workhorse for just about anything! Large storage area in the back with "flat plastic chair mats" provide protection plus easy loading. The 2 mats sit on top of each other when the back seat is being used, and the split back seats fold down completely flat - allowing top mat to slide forward over the new flat space. This provides lots of room for hauling stuff. Home projects, moving, ski trips to the mountains, camping trips or whatever. This trusty SUV has taken us to Canada, Yellow Stone, California and many other places. Routine maintenance along with almost new brakes, tires and transmission make this a reliable ride. Plan your project or your outing and let this solid car help get you where you need to go and back!
Comes with: Roof rack that easily holds long ladders and up to 100 lbs. (total) of long bulky stuff, and I'll provide ratchet strap-downs for securely fastening just about anything. The 4 wheel drive is optional and push button, so no need to consume extra fuel unless you need it. Sun roof with 2-way action (open a crack or slide fully open, with sun screen for when closed) Automatic drive, AC and CD player.
Also has Class 3 Towing package for hauling light trailers or small boats (up to 2500 pounds). The six cylinder Explorer transmission is NOT designed for long distance hauling nor steep hill climbs (other than short driveway distances that are not too steep), so while it would probably make it just fine, I don't want to put the stress on the vehicle of hauling trailers or boats over the pass or up mountains. Skis and the optional storage rack that fits in the towing package and carries up to 400 lbs of additional stuff (like large coolers, tents, etc.) work just fine. Please let me know with your inquiry about the intended usage and approximate distances you want to take it so we can mutually determine if it is a good fit for your purposes.
Can provide optional moving dolly's, bike racks and ski racks at nominal charges if and as needed.Note - bike rack is one that slides into the towing mount and holds up to 4 bikes (you can still open and close the back door if using 3 bikes or less). However it is subject to availability, as we use it ourselves on our other SUV at times.
Also, subject to availability, may rent at reasonable rates camping gear such as tent(s), 10x10 canopy, folding chairs, etc. Inquire if interested in these options - as they can really increase the enjoyment of a camping vacation yet are too bulky and not practical to travel with if coming from out of the area, and even if local, no sense in spending the money to buy them if you don't already have them. Just require damage deposit fully refundable. (sleeping bags also available, for fee plus cleaning charge).
