Difficult user experience: 1: street parking (we spent 15 minutes in a raining day to looking for where is the car because owner gave us the wrong address ) 2:Difficult to returning the car .I spent 1.5 hour to looking for a street park that is match owner requirements 24-48 hours safe parking.Basically I am taking the responsibility to park the owner car. 3:communications:very hard to reach the owner when we couldn't find the car and parking spot ,owner didn't take my call only asked me left message . 4:car isn't clean and gas very low when we got the car. 5:Car it's fine we bought some stuff from ikea so it was helps. 6:Owner it's friendly ,we understand that make extra money it's difficult sometimes.
BUYER BEWARE--ATTEMPTED TO SCAM ME:
This guy blatantly tried to scam me out of hundreds of dollars. I was more or less ok with the rental despite Nikola being late to unlock the vehicle, the vehicle itself having the check engine light on and it taking 45 minutes to find suitable parking when returning, mainly because Nikola was responsive and friendly over text. However, one day after returning the truck I got a message from Turo saying that he had filed a damage claim against me, with two attached pictures of the alleged "damage". The first one showed white marks on the bed of his truck that were clearly there in the pre-trip pictures I sent him, and the second one showed a scratch literally the width and length of a hair, so small I had to zoom in all the way on my phone to see it. When I sent him a message about it, he ignored me and that was the last I heard from him. I honestly have no idea what caused him to try and pull one over on me. Maybe he thought since it was my first time renting from Turo (I told him as much) I'd be an easy way to make an extra few hundred bucks or get a new paint job. What makes it more bizarre is the amount of positive reviews he has. Can't explain the, all I can say is this guy is incredibly dishonest.
Great truck. Definitely got the job done. A bit difficult finding parking for my vehicle when picking up the truck--but that's just SF. There were a couple maintenance lights on during the trip, which was a bit nerve wrecking as I was traveling outside the city. Despite that, all ran smooth. Had to fill up some air in the back tires, likely because of the weight I loaded into the truck from my move. If I lived in SF, I would def rent again for any bulky transfer needs.
The truck was easy to find and ran well. It sits up pretty high but was easy to drive and maneuver around the city. Nikola responded quickly when I needed him to remotely unlock the car. Overall no complaints.
It's a nice car. I parked it on Market and then I found I couldn't start it. I tried to contact the owner but he did not answer my phone and asked me to send him message. The thing is , he did not give me any help when I tell him I can't start the car which made feel disappointed.
Difficult user experience.
- Received vehicle on empty fuel, had to immediately go to gas station
- Vehicle location isn't precise because it is street parked. Can be a few blocks off. Adds to pick-up time.
- Vehicle not in very clean condition.
- General pickup area is very low on parking. Expect to circle block for several minutes
- Owner, however, is very responsive on text, which minimized otherwise difficult situation
