My truck is an f350 Lariat diesel with all the bells and whistles and has 33" mud tires on it. It seats 6 no problem and can handle any sort of hauling load (including tie downs) you might have, all while being roomy and comfy.
It gets 17-19mpg on the highway (new fuel pump and injectors helped a ton) and 10-12 in town. It has plenty of power and capacity to haul heavy loads.
I bought this truck used from a construction company owner. It is in nice shape but not perfect. I use it occasionally to pull my camper or small sailboat with my girlfriend and dog. As you can see from the pictures, for having 150,000 miles and being 10 years old it is in great shape.
having said that,
It has room for 6 comfortably with the bench seat in front. Has a pioneer head-unit with ipod and auxiliary input. The stereo also doubles as a hands free in that it has bluetooth connectivity with a microphone on the driver's side. (I have a GPS in the glovebox, as well as a generic USB cord for charging all sorts of phones given you bring your cord. I am a techie geek so I also have a solar usb phone charger should need arise!)
The truck has a 6.5' bed but NO LONGER HAS the lumber rack on top. I now have a rolling tonneau topper (3-5mins to take off) on the bed. I have some ratchet tie downs i'll leave with the truck in case you are moving stuff and need a way to secure items! *thumbs up* I also have a 65 gallon aux fuel tank for vegetable oil (I installed dual fuel systems- so I can run on WVO-kinda nerdy.)
I have just moved to Alameda CA, and typically the truck is available anytime unless I am going camping. I have a scooter to run around on and do not need all that space to get around the bay.
If you are interested in a rental, the sooner you can let me know in advance, the better. I would love to let you have a go with the truck. It is a great ride and is super comfy with family and gear.
I will be in class most days so I may not be able to get the truck to you on day-of requests. 24hrs notice is enough, I live and breathe my iphone, texts, and emails. :) If you leave a number and would like me to call you, I will get to you ASAP to verify rental availability.
I have added airport availability in that I would be happy to meet at a BART station where you could pick it up pending further instructions.
