I've been a loyal Turo (now Turo) renter for years and this has been by far the worst experience I've ever had. I rented Evandro's Kia Sportage 2012 SUV over New Years weekend. The day I picked up the car, Evandro assured me that the car was in great condition. He told me there were no problems and seemed very nice. We drove 2 hours out of the city and decided to stop to pick up groceries. 15 minutes later we try to start the car and the car is completely dead. After several failed attempts at starting the car, I call Evandro to inform him about the situation. He casually responded by saying I must've left the lights on and that the battery is not as strong. He told me that he had car troubles a few days prior and that he had left the car lights on only for a few minutes which completely drained the battery. First and foremost, I had 3 passengers in the car with me and we all unanimously agreed the car lights were NOT on when we got out the car. Most importantly, Evandro NEVER mentioned to me about the car having starting issues not once. Evandro should have never rented me a car with a weak battery. The car was obviously not in great condition and we all felt very unsafe in it the entire trip. Because plans were made and I had already drove out of the city, I had no other choice but to be stuck with this car. This became created a huge dent and inconvenience to the trip. I couldn't enjoy driving out and go site seeing comfortably with my group because of this. The day that I returned the car, Evandro apologies for all the troubles and assured me he would give me a refund. 1 week later, Evandro has yet to give me a refund and now he is trying to refund me for one day! If Evandro thinks this kind of service is acceptable than I truly hope Turo can reevaluate his lack of decency and suspend his account. I will NEVER be renting from Evandro EVER AGAIN. He is a liar and will put someone's life at risk for an extra penny in his pocket.
