This 2007 Jeep Compass 4X4 is looking amazing. Rent my car and drive in style. You will save alot of money on gas too. It only costs me about $26 to fill up the tank from empty, and i get over 350 miles on a full tank. I use this car on occasion and enjoy driving it every time. Its loaded with power everything. This car is the perfect size. You can fit a lot in it and its still comfortable in size. I am right next door to the NJ transit Train stop in Hackensack on Essex st. From NYC Penn station, that's only a short 20-30 min ride. My location is right next door to the train station.

Mohammed was very nice and working with him was easy. Answered his phone and texts in timely manner.
The car itself was spotless on the inside.
It had surprisingly little leg room. Having a child's seat in the back had me as the driver (5 ft 10 in) too close to the dash.
Wasn't the smoothest drive, I could immediately discern the automatic gear shifting with any significant acceleration. (2nd to 3rd?) Once you drive it for a while it becomes no big deal.
That being said, one of the best values on Turo in NJ/NY area. I would rent with this car again, although with my car seat situation, i may look at Mohammed's other value priced SUVs.
The interior of the car was not clean and it smelled cigarettes. When I reported this to Ayaz, he said he did not have enough time to clean and was ready to exchange for another car. However, I was few hours away on my trip and could not exchange.
The breaks of the car are in not good condition. Luckily it did not rain when I used it. I think without fixing the breaks, the car may not be safe.
The suspensions are in not great condition as well. There was creaking sound all through our trip. The left indicator needs multiple attempts before it works.
The two star was because Ayaz was easily accessible.
My friends and I booked this Jeep through Mohammad for memorial day weekend to drive to Ocean City, MD. We liked this Jeep because we were getting good mileage to do a road trip and also the small suv was great on gas with a CVT transmission. Mohammed was professional from the beginning and always replied on messages sent to him.
A week before this trip I saw a bad review left by a former customer who said the brakes were bad and the interior was dirty. I addressed my concerns with Mohammad and he told me the brakes were serviced in February and the customer was upset at him for charging more since she went over the mileage limit set by Mohammed. Mohammed has good reviews so I trusted him. Two days before my trip I asked Mohammad if the Jeep is ready and clean. He said everything was good to go. I went to the address to pick up the Jeep and everything looked as advertised.
Upon initial inspection I noticed the Jeep wasn't as clean. The Jeep could've used a good vacuum because there were small dirt and crumbs on the edges of the floor and under the seats. Nothing crazy but it's not like how you would get it from a normal rental company. The tires did not have much tread left so I knew I had to be very careful driving. Luckily we were mostly on highways and driving straight most of the time. Outside of this, the Jeep had full tank of gas and we were off to our trip.
I noticed the right blinker does not work well while you are driving. You'll have to finesse with it to get it working and that is a safety issue when driving. You can even get tickets for not signaling. The ride is smooth and we did reach Ocean city without any much problems.
The second day I tried to turn on the Jeep and it wasn't starting. There was nothing left on or plugged in for the battery to drain out. We ended up jump starting this Jeep and it was good for a day and a half until it died on us again. We didn't have much time to take this Jeep to a mechanic and figure out what the issue was since it was fine after we jump started it everytime. Again, stuff like this is annoying when you are on vacation.
On the way back from vacation, we noticed that the Jeep would start to jerk back and forth a little bit when accelerating from a stop. There was a lot of rain from Tropical storm Bonnie in Maryland and I was very nervous driving this Jeep with potential poor tires and power train issues. Luckily my friends and I were okay and we dropped the car off at the original location with a full tank of gas. And I was just happy that I can walk away from this without anything negative happening.
I messaged Mohammad afterwards about my experience and suggested he should take his Jeep off his list until all the issues are taken care of. I have not heard from him since. Which I do not think is professional. I am sure he isn't happy that one of his cars isn't performing well but I am not upset with Mohammad as a person. He needs to be more careful with passenger safety, which is the most important thing in Turo or for any rental company. I would not suggest driving this Jeep and I see another Jeep compass in his lineup now also. These cars are known for their front end issues. Mohammed has other cars that are much more reliable and I suggest you rent them before you use these.
