How do tolls work?
The car is equipped with an E-ZPass MA. In 5/6 New England states (excluding Connecticut) we have roadway tolls. In Massachusetts, the Commonwealth has initiated automated tolling along the Mass Pike/I-90 and at various landmarks around Boston (i.e. the airport, tunnels, bridges, etc.). You will receive a request for reimbursement once all tolls have posted to my E-ZPass account.
Uh oh, I might go over on mileage?
That's OK, life happens. At the end of the trip, extra mileage will be calculated and billed at the rate found in your reservation.
Dang it! I am running late to return the car.
If you know you're going to need to keep the car longer or may be a few minutes late, please contact me immediately using the in-app messenger. If you are going to be late, you should attempt to update your reservation within the app or online with your new anticipated return time. I will then approve this change in your reservation for a later return, if the car is available.
If the car isn't available, you'll need to figure it out, as this is the time you have selected to return the car and it may be rented out to someone else shortly after. Remember that Turo's provided insurance and any purchased trip coverage expire at the end of your reservation.
Late fees apply to late returns under Turo's fee structure which are billed at a non-prorated rate of $50/hour, up to $200. See https://support.turo.com/hc/en-us/articles/203990710-Late-Return-Policy for more details.
I arrived earlier than I originally anticipated, can I have the car before my reservation begins?
Yes and no. Insurance and trip protections do not begin until the start time on the reservation. If you were to be involved in an accident, you would not be covered through Turo, and neither would I. Therefore, you may change the start time of the reservation in the app or online; however, Turo may charge a fee that is out of my control.
Where's the best gas station to refuel?
If you're at the airport, simply use the on-site gas station. If you're returning the car to Babcock St, there are a couple of recommend options:
If returning from west of the city through Brighton/Allston/Cambridge or via Mass Pike, there's a Speedway gas station located at 100 Brighton Ave, Boston, MA 02134.
If returning from the east, south, or north via Brookline/Storrow Dr/BU Bridge/Cambridge, there's a Mobil gas station at 850 Commonwealth Ave, Boston, MA 02215.
Both locations are within a half mile of the return location.
