I rented Mehmet's Cadillac Escalade. It was filthy inside and out when I picked it up. Grimy coins in the cupholders, dirt all over the floor, dust on every other surface. I took it straight to River North Hand Car Wash to be washed and detailed. They apologized for it taking twice as long as it usually does to get clean. On the way out, the owner said that the car was ready but badly needed a new battery. I didn't find out until days later that they had to jump the car after washing it!
The battery died at my very first stop, about 75 minutes after picking the car up and 20 after leaving the car wash. When I called Mehmet for help, whoever answered angrily said it was my fault, that I must've left the lights on (it was 10am and sunny), and I'd have to jump it or otherwise figure it out myself.
My group had to have a new driver come pick us up for the rest of the day. Meanwhile, Mehmet sent me more messages on Turo saying that the dead battery was my fault, was uncommunicative in terms of whether he was or wasn't picking it up, and later charged us $50 (!) to jump the car and another $35 to have someone come and pick it up, all of which Turo auto-deducted from my account without any input from me whatsoever.
I'm currently trying to get a refund, which has been a far slower process than expected.
I highly suggest not to do business with these guys. They find every loophole possible to charge you extra. I was done with business and was flying out a day earlier. I asked if I could return the car before and they refused. They brought me the vehicle late (at their location) and then attempted to charge me a 30 minute late fee when they originally gave me the vehicle 30 min late. These guys do it as a business and they will find every loop hole to charge you extra. Be cautious!!
