Daniel was great at communicating. The pickup and drop off of the vehicle went smoothly and quick. I would rate his customer service, professionalism, and friendliness with 5 stars. However, I gave my overall review 3 stars for the following reasons. 1) We received the Sorento on an empty tank (Daniel did apologize for this and there was a gas station close by) 2) The Sorento had to be towed on the 4th day of my 7-day rental due to the fan belt literally falling out of the car while driving on a residential street (luckily this did not happen on the freeway). As I mentioned, I would give Daniel 5 stars for his customer service. He was very quick at responding when this happened and arranged for a tow truck to pick us up and bring us back to his lot with another vehicle waiting. He gave us the option to receive a refund for the rest of our days as he did not have another SUV available but did have a Hyundai Sedan available. We opted to continue our rental with the Hyundai instead of searching for another rental through Turo. 3) The interior of the Hyundai had dog fur everywhere, dirt, sand, and leaves/pine needles. We had to vacuum the car before we could really go anywhere as my husband is very allergic to dogs. 4) There was no windshield washer fluid in the Hyundai, which became bit of a problem when driving home from the North Shore. When you park your car all day at the beach the salt air leaves this residue on the windshield, when we started driving home we tried to remove this residue by using the windshield washer fluid, however, this made things worse and caused the windshield to have no visibility. We ended up having to use our water bottles in the car to wash off the windshield before we could continue our drive home. As a frequent renter of Turo’s around the island I probably will not rent from Daniel again, as too many un-expected occurrences happened, it was probably just bad luck, but going through 2 cars in 7 days with both cars having issues makes me not want to deal with that kind of hassle again.
