Unfamiliarity with the area in addition to traffic caused me to be tardy for my pick-up. Cleverton was very patient and even assisted in guiding me with instructions. The vehicle was clean. Cleverton as available to answer questions if any issues came up with the vehicle. Will definitely use his services again.
I rented the car and discovered it has been cleaned with such chemicals that you couldn’t sit in without feeling bad.
Rather then writing a bad review and try to get money back that way (it’s the first time I encounter problems here on Turo, which is an excellent platform) I politely asked Cleverton to give the car back with an excuse, just to get rid of it and do not damage the owner…
“I’m sorry but my daughter keeps feeling bad so I have to cancel our trip together.
Can I return the car please?
It would be very kind of you, hope you understand”
“Thats not a problem, you can bring the car back but there will be probably a fee to return the car early I will contact Turo and let you know”
“You are very kind!
I'll let you know ASAP when I can bring it back.
Let me know how much is the penalty.”
No reply on the fee came but it’s evident that I was even ready to face the eventual penalty.
i left the car to discover, the morning after that the rental went on so I wrote to him.
“I gave the car back (after you said there was no problem but the eventual penalty Turo asks for) counting on you to interrupt the booking the very moment I left the car at your place.
I can't book any other car till you don't do it. Please do it now or I get stuck with no car.”
“I just spoke with Turo and even though you returned the car earlier you still responsible for the reservation but I would like to give you the option to get the jeep back or if you still not wanting the car I will call them back and tell them to release your account for another rental”
As you can see being polite to him didn’t work.
So here’s my review:
The car stinks of chemicals and the owner’s word doesn’t count.
p.s. these extracts from msgs and several mails with turo’s team prove that each information given is real and that I tried to be as kind as possible to Cleverton before finding out that “Thats not a problem, you can bring the car back but there will be probably a fee to return the car early I will contact Turo and let you know” meant that, of course, for Cleverton there’s no problem giving back the car and keep paying for a service you don’t use anymore!
