This car was made for the mountains...but still does well in the cities. It a Subaru Forester XT, meaning it comes with a turbo that will get you up the mountains without lag. It also has all weather mats and a roof box on top. Basically, this Forester is perfect for a weekend [or week, I won't judge...I'll enable!] in the mountains. There is plenty of room for camping/backpacking/climbing gear in the trunk and roof box with comfortable sitting room for 5 people. The ground clearance and AWD are also great for mountain roads -- you can get places you didn't think possible.
That said, it's also great in town -- all the amenities are fully functional including AC, heat, power windows/locks and a large sunroof that makes the Forester feel more spacious. It averages 24MPG in town and about 26MPG on the highways. And, yes, that roof box does fit in any parking garage that is 7 feet or taller, I've checked!
While I will not encourage the demise of my car, I do encourage you to take it out to see the world -- go camping, go backpacking, go up mountain roads...but do it all responsibly!
**TOLLS** There are some highways in the Denver/Boulder/Front Range area that have toll lanes. This includes, but isn't necessarily limited to E-470, Hwy 36 and I-70. These are all "license plate tolls" meaning the bill comes to me, the owner. However, you, the renter, is responsible for these fees. Please keep in mind the Turo policies regarding tolls -- https://support.turo.com/hc/en-us/articles/203990510-Toll-fees. I don't mean to be a jerk about this, but tolls add up and I promise you they are all avoidable if you plan strategically. Please ask questions, we'll work out the details!
[I, Heidi - owner of the car, am in Europe for a few months and have left Kami in charge of my car. She will be the person you're communicating with and meeting. She has 110% of my permission to manage all the details and interactions regarding my car. She is also able to contact me directly if you have any detailed questions! Thanks for understanding and hopefully you have a great time exploring in my Forester!]
