2006 Jeep LibertyMichael's Jeep154.517
We rented the jeep for our week long stay in Colorado. While it does say airport pick up is free and included, don't let that fool you. We had to pay to go to a hotel 15 minutes away, which wasn't terribly expensive, but annoying on principle. The car was clean and drove fine.
Although the truck got me from point A to point B safely; I was expecting to rent a Jeep. I was told I was getting an upgrade from a Liberty to a Cherokee (which I was completely fine with!) then when I got my final pick-up instructions I was surprised to find out that I would be getting a Ford Explorer. After discussing the miscommunication with the owner, I agreed it would be fine as I didn't have any more time left to look for something else. I was reassured that it was a nice ride. The truck shifted really hard and didnt like driving past 60 mph. Not to mention the "check engine light came on"
Upon receiving the pick up instructions the letter stated "Keep in mind, cracked windshields cost $200" I picked up the phone and disclosed that there was a 6 inch crack already in the windshield (they failed to inform me) As you can see, the start of my trip felt a bit stressed and not to mention it is NOT curbside pick-up. You will have to pay a $15 Uber ride (2x=$30) to go pick up the car and to return it (the hotel shuttle was not available to us on the pick up or return). At the end of our trip we had to hassle to find a car wash near the airport (there is not many in the area, FYI) Add on another $12 and it doesn't feel much more of a discount than renting from an established Car Rental Place for a new car. I would suggest not charging your guests to wash a car (most rental companies don't require this); it is a hassle when heading to the airport and at the end of anyone's trip! I understand clearing out trash and filling it up; that's basic and most people get that. Needless to say; give people actual curbside pickup since it says so in your profile and give them the actual car they requested; not the run around I had to deal with.
This was our first time using Turo and we were pleased overall. It was easy to use and definitely cheaper than renting. The vehicle was nice, clean, and well-kept, and our host's communication was pretty good! Our only issue was that we selected this vehicle due to the advertised "free airport delivery." We were a bit disappointed to find out the night before that we actually had to find our way to a nearby hotel and pick it up there. Mike was very reasonable and offered to make up for it by driving us to the airport on our way out. We planned to meet him at the same hotel early so that he could deal with another customer. Unfortunately, he was running late and we were going to have to wait around for an hour-until the original drop off time. We elected to take an uber and save everyone the trouble. Again, we really were happy with everything! It just turned out to be a bit less convenient than we expected.
I would simply recommend a modification to the listing as I would have rather paid anyone else's delivery fee to avoid all of our logistical issues.
It took us a bit to locate, mostly because the color was different from the picture. When we started driving the car around Denver, we were surprised at how much it slid and lost control in the snow (even the sludge)- so we had to alter our plans a bit to avoid any type of snow, sludge, or ice in the road. That was a bit of a bummer. But Mike was great with communicating and getting us the info we needed before and after the trip.
The pick up was confusing at first. I took an uber to a hotel right outside a hotel and wandered around the back of a hotel to find the Jeep which was changed around a few times. However, Michael was very responsive and helpful. Aside from that, the jeep drove great even with it snowing. It got me up to breckenridge and around with no problem. Checking out easy.
Car was great and was perfect for going up to the mountains. We had it for the week up in the snow and it was exactly what we needed. The owners were great at communicating and will do this next time in Denver for sure!!
The experience was great. Michael left the vehicle at a hotel parking lot with free shuttle service to and from the airport. He (with permission) upgraded us s VW Touareg. It was clean, and had some extra space for my luggage and kids. Great experience.
