Immediately after signing up for the rental i had high hopes due our initial encounter on Turo. She started off with great communication and told me to update her when the trip date came closer to update her of my status. I messaged her the day before about my plans and to get instructions on where to pick up the car, but no response. At this point i am flying into Denver without any instructions or way to pick up the vehicle. I called via mobile the morning of the flight and an hour before our scheduled pick up time and no answer or reply once again. 5 minutes later i called again and she finally answered. She seemed out of it and confused on the phone, as if she forgot about the appointment or as if the phone call awoke her from sleep (it was an early flight). She told me over the phone that she would come pick us up, but about 10 minutes later she called back and told me there was too much traffic and rather than picking me up at the airport (airport vehicle pickup was agreed to in the rental description), she would send out a uber and have them drive us to a parking lot about 20 minutes away to pick up the car. Yes, she paid for the uber, but I shouldn't have needed to deal with the hassle.
Then there's the car, it has brake issues. It stops the car fine, but it shakes like crazy when stopping (more noticeable at higher speeds). This is an especially big problem when you're driving through the mountains and needing to hit the breaks often to slow down. Aside from the brake issues the car was fine.
The drop off also went poor, but this was in part my fault. Shy told us to park somewhere at the airport and we wound up in another spot due to unfamiliarity with the airport. We told her where we parked but it took an hour an a half of communication with her to find where i left the car. After the trip she asked for 14 dollars to cover the cost. I might have been ok with this had charge had the pick-up not been botched.
Shy was super easy to work with! We had some issues with the Acura MDX at first but she was super responsive and quickly switched out the car to this GMC Terrain. The GMC was the perfect car for Colorado and Shy made the entire transaction easy and effortless. Would highly recommend her cars to other renters.
We enjoyed Shys GMC Terrain although we thought it was larger than it actually was. It seats five adults tightly but we made it work! Even squeezed two large pieces of luggage and 3 small in the back. Shy was very responsive and even came to pick the car up at our airport hotel. One star off for shaking breaks but once we figured out how to go down hill using the gears we didn't have an issue. Thanks again Shy!
